THOSE NEWS CASTS, SO YOU CAN GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT HAD TO DO WITH TWO THINGS: ONE PERSON IN SAN FRANCISCO DIDN'T PAY THEIR REGISTRATION AND GOT THEIR CAR REPOD, THEY HAVE BAD CREDIT AND NEEDED A WAY TO VENT. AND THE SECOND REPORT WAS REGARDING A COUPLE THAT CAME TO FRESH START LOOKING TO GET OUT OF THEIR PMTS BUT FAILED TO TELL FRESH START THAT THEY WERE 3 1/2 PMTS BEHIND, SO BECAUSE THEY (THE COUPLE) DIDN'T PAY THEIR BILL, THEIR CAR GOT REPOD, THEIR LIES SHOULDN'T AFFECT FRESH START'S NAME BUT IT DID. THE OWNER OF THE CAR WAS IN DEFAULT NOT FRESH START.
Don't believe everything you hear or read. These posts are probably some angry customer that didn't get their way so are venting but most likely it's someone who got their car repossessed because they didn't make their payments on time. Well duh, if you screw up of course you are going to get your car repod! Don't be a hater and blame these companies! Blame yourself. THERE IS ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY! Could this be someone who brought their car to Fresh Start or affiliates looking for help but in actuality the car they tried to pass off was in repo status prior to ever transacting with Fresh Start or affiliates? OR maybe this person is angry because they lost their money due to their own default? I know these companies that are being accused of a scam are NOT and they do have strict policies, such as one contract they have that states All monies are NON Refundable! I also know that there is a lawsuit being filed in favor of Fresh Start, etc, they are suing for defamation of character, slander, libel, etc. There are consequences for things that are put in print, especially when stories are slanderous and false. The legal term "defamation" is pretty clear cut and Fresh Start definitely has a case. From what I know, Fresh Start, and Premier Capital are NOT subleasing. The subleasing law is listed in Penal Code 571 and they do not violate this law. You must violate all six clauses to be subleasing. It is great that DMV is investigating! They should. But let them be the ones who determine if something is going on that is illegal, but don't let this uneducated dummy try and convince you this business is a scam. There is a massive auto scam being run
throughout California with owners Jason Denman and Amanda Seminoff
using the company names Fresh Start Enterprises, Premier Capital, US
Auto Management, and we are sure others. Other known people involved
are Laurene Davis, Bryan Stanfill, Corday Handy, and Mike Johnson.
This is how their scam works: The Con-Artist find people who need/want
to get rid of their car loan and claim they will find someone to take
possession of the owner's car and assume the monthly payments. Once
the Con-Artist have possession of a car, they fail to live up to their
guarantees!! They intercept the payment by having the "Permissive User"
send the money to a Bank of America account, where Jason and Amanda
keep the money and no payment is made to the auto loan. Eventually,
the desperate owner wants their car returned, but they refuse, and
ultimately the car is reported stolen, only to have the owners of the
car now with ruined credit and the unsuspecting "Permissive User" now
driving a stolen car. These people have contracts and know the scam
very well. They act very charming and make you feel comfortable. This
is all part of their CON!! Through investigations, Jason Denman and
Amanda Seminoff have embezzled thousands and thousands of dollars from
innocent people. Also, Amanda Seminoff has been doing this con for a
loooong time. She was married to a Michael Horsley which together ran
US Auto Management, which have been sued and is no longer in business
