When a car buyer goes to any car dealer and they feel or think that the car dealer likes to play games it is time to tell the other car buyers about it. Car buyers need to protect each other by telling their story. Let's speak up and EXPOSE!

Currently I am helping a local law firm spank a local car dealer for sending falsified credit applications to auto lenders behind the car Buyer's back. In other words they lie to lenders just to make sure that they get the buyer a car loan. This is called FRAUD! Would love to mention dealer's name, but can't just yet until after the suit is done. Can you say FRAUD? it's a 5 letter word.

Is your car financed? If so you MIGHT have a GREAT LAW SUIT! Call up your auto lender and ask for a copy of your credit app. See if someone changed some info on it after you went home from buying your car. I know a local lady that spanked a local Dodge dealer for doing this scam and got her truck paid off and CASH$$$ to BOOT. God I love this country!

They seem to like to change the dollar amount on your income, rent or mortgage amount. sometimes they lie about your SSI. If you get a copy of your credit app and it has been altered in any way from what you wrote down the day you bought your car, you might think of suing them for FRAUD.

Many car dealers do not want thier sales people to let you fill out the credit app. If they let you fill it out and someone later changed it before they sent it to a lender, you could prove it was not your hand writting. But, if they fill it out and later you find false info on it, car dealer can say, "Hey that's what the car buyer told us to write down" hard for you to prove what you said. Hand writting does not lie!

If a car dealer will not let you fill out the credit app, think twice before you do business with they.

Car dealers do this across the country. From all of the AZ auto rip off reports, I feel that Arizona is the "Auto Rip Off Capital" of this country.

Think about this for a second. Do you think that you can go to the BBB and get informed of car dealer scams and rip off's? Your response should be NO!

You can't read car Buyer's complaints at the BBB. That being said what good are they. I have some info that might be food for thought for all who read this.

Let's say you are watching TV and you see a car dealer's commercial. The car dealer says they won the JD Powers award for some crazy thing, My question is "Who pays for the JD Power award"? Does the car buyer, do they get a survey and send it in with some cash to JD Powers? Maybe the car dealer pays JD Powers for the award or maybe JDPowers gives them out for free because they like the auto industry.

I emailed JD Powers and ask this question. To this day I gave gotten NO answer!

This might be some more food for thought. Everybody has a favorite radio station they enjoy listening to. There is a local radio station that has a personality that says they have a favorite car dealer that they brag about all the time.

My question is when that favorite car dealer stops advertising on that radio station, will they still be his favorite car dealer, or when the advertising $$$$ money stops will we hear about a NEW FAVORITE car dealer.

I've always rather enjoyed going to a car lot, letting the salesman give his line of crap, then asking him to pop the hood on the car or do it myself. They really used to freak on me when I stuck my finger into the radiator to check for oil, sawdust, etc. in the water, then check the oil for water/dirt, and all the other fluids too of course. Didn't much like it when I crawled under the car either to check what shape it was in. Never knew if it was cause I knew what to look for or if it was due to the fact I'm a *gasp* girl ... either way, it's fun to do.

Since those days, I've driven at auto auction and learned the value of black book prices. (Was a dealer only auction.) I'd love to go play with .. err .. I mean .. visit a car dealer again.

I also was told that I won $1000 shopping spree it is a bunch of junk. Far as I am concerned the gifts are cheesy and not worth it. You could shop at Walmart,s or KMart and get some better gifts, and they really could have given out some gift certificates to some of these stores for less and that would have been appreciated more than the gimmicks they are trying to use. Car dealers will try anything to get you to come down to their lot. They will promise low interest rates to entice you to come down then when you get there, You hear, "Sorry you don't qualify" your Fair Isaac Score is not 750 or better.

They will promise you that special deal and when you get there they might say "Sorry you got here too late" We just sold the one you wanted an hour a go. The one that gets me going is a local import dealer like to have what they call a "Construction Reduction Sale"

You get to a sale of any kind and then you will hear some fast talking, programed sales person tell what you want to hear just to get you "In the Box" Then you better have your thinking cap on or you my friend are in deep Do Do!

Or they might have what many car dealers in Arizona like to do. That's have a "Tent Event Sale" Whoopee. Maybe they will have a special "On Site" Sale like a local Cadillac dealer likes to have every weekend. Again WHOOPEE it seems that they all have some kind of sale or gimmick every weekend.

Just read your local newspaper. You have to ask what kind of mind does it take to come up with so many different titles for all of these so called sales that are just smoke and mirrors? Just think if your boss told you that you are now responsible for all the "Show and Blow" to attract new customers. Could you come up with a new twist every weekend that looks better then your competition?

They always will have a gimmick and a scam. I do not believe that there is an honest car dealer out there.

The bad thing is that you can't find a good form of media that will help victims expose the auto dealers scams. I think it is high time that people that like this web site start showing the owner that they like what he is doing. No form of media will ever tell you what you can learn right here. Send what ever you can to Ed the Editor so he can to more to protect you from the auto industry scams.

By the way you car buying consumers need to keep a close eye on car dealer's finance people. There is a big scam going on and it's nationwide. Car buyer comes to dealer to buy a new car. car dealer's salesman tells they what they want to hear to get a car dealer. Car buyer is lead "Into the Box" to sign all documentation. Car buyer signs all documentation and drives their new Sled home.

Car dealer's employees think maybe they can get the banks to approve you much faster if things look a bit better on your credit application. Car dealer's employees take it upon themselves to change info on your credit app so bank thinks you are in a better financial situation then you truly are just to get the car deal done.
"BANKING FRAUD"

Call up your auto lender and ask for a copy of the credit app that the car dealer sent to the bank. You might get a shock as to how much your dealer told the bank you make for a living. it's call "Banking Fraud" car dealers do this all the time.

I have read most of the comments concerning the $1,000 shopping spree. I also went to Avondale because of the certificate prize.

In order to claim my prize I had to show up at Avondale during the sale hours. I was notified about the sale and shopping spree from a letter I recieved in the mail.

I was instructed to to scratch a card that was enclosed with my letter to see what I would recieve when I showed up at the store. I was grateful about this because I was skeptical to begin with so I called and asked questions as to how it really worked.

When I called, they explained to me exactly how it worked. When I showed up to the dealership I was treated with respect. I was told again everything about how the certificate worked.

I have to admit that every gift on the web site was not that great. However, I found several items I am very happy with. After reading some of these comments I guess I'm confused...

The dealership gave me the certificate for free. What's the big deal? Did anyone have to actually pay for their certificate?

I realize that we all probably had to spend our time to show up at the dealership. But, I assume everyone is at least smart enough to call in advance and find out what the whole thing is about?

More importantly though... I was actually in the market to buy a car! I shopped all over town and found it great that they had the sale prices already on the cars. The prices were as good as any I have seen.

In fact the car I bought I recieved a better price than anywhere else I looked... so I bought. If I had just went there first I could have saved a lot of time not going everywhere else.

I bought a car and was very happy with the service. I didn't really care about the shopping spree because we get these all the time in the mail and it's free.

I didn't have to buy and I didn't have to visit the store (if I didn't want too).

it's funny to me that people are upset about getting something free.

i priced cars out all around town and got the best deal at avondale chry jeep. sorry if it didn't work out for you but maybe you went into the dealership with a negative attitude because you had your doubts about the shopping spree.

Before you go to a car lot, or any other business for that matter, do your homework. Go on line and shop around.

I went online at edmunds.com and started looking and printing and I had the info in front of me when I called the dealer. I also took it with me when I went.

I didn't go in with an attitude, just educated and knowing exactly what I wanted and were I could be flexable or not.

I also checked on this site for any reports filed against them. There were none.

When I went in, I showed them what I had found on the net, and mentioned that I had checked them out on this site, and said that so far there were no complaints. I sort of stressed the "so far".
When we sat down, I told them exactly what I wanted, how I wanted it, and on what terms. If they can't deliver, I go down the road. I got exactly what I wanted regarding loan terms, and a better car than I went to look at to start with. I was never rude, just very straight forward. I let them know I had been doing my homework, and had the information with me that I had found.

The bottom line is this. Most people get shafted for 2 reasons.

1.People are basically lazy. It just takes to much effort to pick up a phone or go online and look around. So you go in as a target rather than being in control.

2.This is the big one. Remember one thing. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING!!! YOU CAN LEAVE!!!

My purchase was with Tempe Toyota, and I will shop there again down the road.

To the others who complained about the shopping spree. Were you looking for a car or a shopping spree?

I have been in the auto bussiness for many years. I now over see the lease turn in's and if they should go to auction or not. Sure, every sale' company in world will do something to get you to come in. After all, they are in the bussiness to sale, without customers there are no sale's. The thing that really made me mad is someone saying car companies change the credit report. At Avis Ford in Southfield Michigan, never has a credit report been changed. Keep in mind that the lending company doesn't just take the dealerships word. They run their on credit check and inquire about the ammount of money made by the buyer. If all a car dealer had to do was say a person made a million dollars a year, then the credit company took our word. There would be a huge amount of sales for every furniture, appliance, swiming pool, car dealerships, etc, stores in the United States. The gentelman was right on the certificate. You didn't pay for it, nor was anyone holding a gun to your head making you go to the show room. I don't care if you just got a candy bar. That was more than you had when you went. Yes, we are out to make money in an honest way. Of course the price of used car is going to be higher than the trade it price. This is called America and being able to own your own bussiness. Not all car companies are dishonest and forge your documents.

Our dealership has used this promotional product for a while now. We always get complaints. Management says the company is difficult to deal with and they know much of what they offer is junk. Mgmt insists it brings in business, then again our dealership is not the most honest around. I know, why am I still here you're saying. Unfortunately I need the money. I don't allow my customers to get ripped off. Anyway, the selectyourgifts.com is nothing more than a big rip-off.
