I am writing in order to voice my displeasure over a car purchase at Burdick Toyota. In short I bought this vechicle in 1996 when my wife was pregnant and in her last month. Actually at the signing of paperwork for the car my wife was in labor.

It took me awhile to write because I have been working two jobs to pay off the car loan for this car that sits in my mother-in-law's driveway, useless. I am trying to pay off not only that loan but the other loans and expenses that we had as a result of this car. I wanted a dependable car for my wife and children and this car stranded them on the highway not once, but twice. I had two young children at the time the youngest being an infant. I decided the last time they got stranded that it was time to put the car up. Fortunately both times they were stranded was during the daytime hours.

I believe this car was a salvage or recovered theft. This is what I believe they sold me and unfortunately this law wasn't in effect at that time. With the amount of mechanical trouble I had and judging from my previous positive epxeriences with Toyotas, I believe this particular veicle was a salvage or recovered theft and that I unwittingly bought it enabling the dealership to make a very large profit from me.

All in all I had to pay for more than the loan for the car. I had to pay for a new transmission, rental cars for more than a week at a time (they didn't offer loaner cars) as well as getting the front end noise checked out by another garage. The service at Burdick Toyota was not very good either after the final sale. I probably paid over $18,000.00 for this car after all was said and done. This was a 1991 Camery Wagon purchased in 1996 with 35,000 miles on it (approximately). We did bring our unhappiness to the company and are sending them a letter now, but if we don't get some sort of response then they should be ashamed of the way they deal with the public and change there standards for professionalism.
