IF u are trying to buy a new car, DONT GO TO CAMELBACK TOYOTA!!I bought both of my cars there. What a HUGE MISTAKE. I bought my first car in 2004 it was a 2004 toyota corolla the selling price was $18,789 and i ended up paying over $30,00.They charge me for permaplate, which is according to them,is "paint protection" i didnt want any paint protection, but since the car already had it i "HAD" to buy itthey also talked me into buying all kinds of warranties for the car and i ended up giving in since i had been there for over6 hours. Just last november i decided to trade my car in for another car. My car was worth $13700 as a trade in and i owed $17000 so i owed $4000 more than the trade in value, i traded it in for a 2004 toyota sequoia limited, which they were"SUPPPOSE" to have sold me for $24500 blue book value.I went in and told them no down payment because i was broke and was just looking and they sweet talked me, so i decided to trade my car in.The manager said since my car was at "negative equity" $6000,they had to tack that on to the truck, which brought it up to $30500 which in reality my negative equity was $4000 the most.So where did they get the additional $2000? When i questioned it they said because my car was at negative equity, i told him it was only $4000 not $6000 and he said because they gave me more than what my trade in value was worth. They also wanted a down payment when i clearly told him i had no money to put down and the manager said it was to cover documentation fees, title and registration and so on..So i left a check for $500 to cover all those fees.So when i went to go sign the contract i kind of looked it over and my down payment was about $4000!!!! When i only had put $500 down. I asked the financial guy where this money came from and he said that money came from the warranties i had in my other car!!! So they had put the all refunds from my trade in as a down payment without me knowing!!! In the end i ended up paying $49000 for a car i was suppose to have pd for $24500 plus the $4000 negative equity which brings the car total to $28500.In the contract it said they paid $19000 for my trade in which in reality they only pd $17000 according to the car lender. So where did the additional $2000 go to? They tacked it on to the truck. After i got home and reviewed the contract i basically got ripped off about $8000. I tried taking the truck back the next day and the manager said they have a "NO RETURN POLICY" that seemed like a lie to me.I asked the manager to see the "no return policy" in writting and he didnt provide me with it, i wonder why. And to make matters worse they were suppose to have fixed a scratch in the front bumper.I ended up taking the truck in 5 times because when they called me to bring it in,what a "coincidence"the paint guy was never availabe. What did i get for wasting my time? Nothing. So please beware or ripoff artist at CAMELBACK TOYOTA.
