Coos Bay Toyota sales department is deceptive and dishonest in giving excessive low (below Kelley Blue Book) value on a trade in to gain excessive, extreme and unfair profits at the expense of the new car buyer.  Coos
Bay Toyota cost me an extra $4000 in the purchase of a new Toyota Prius over what I would have saved if I had traded in my RAV4 and bought my new Prius at Clint Nxxxxx Mxxxxx (((REDACTED))) in Roseburg.

Force?

AUTHOR: Jim - Orlando (USA)

Did anybody force you to buy there? Did anybody force you to NOT shop around?

It's called negotiation.

" Coos Bay Toyota sales department is deceptive and dishonest in giving excessive low (below Kelley Blue Book) value on a trade in to gain excessive, extreme and unfair profits at the expense of the new car buyer. "

You do not mention anything unfair, deceptive or dishonest.   They made you a low offer on your trade in.   You were free to turn it down.   If it was so far below what you thought it was worth, why did you accept it?

" Coos Bay Toyota cost me an extra $4000 in the purchase of a new Toyota Prius over what I would have saved if I had traded in my RAV4 and bought my new Prius at Clint Nxxxxx Mxxxxx  "

I seriously doubt this.   If you are so lacking in negotiating skills that you were willing to agree to the first dealer's deal, I'd wager the same thing would have happened at the second dealer as well.   There are no set prices for vehicles.   You won't know what a vehicle will cost until you've negotiated the deal and signed the contract.   From the sound of it, you should not attempt to buy a car again until you learn how the system works.   The Internet can be quite helpful in that respect.

Here's The Deal

AUTHOR: Cory - San Antonio (U.S.A.)

My son-in-law and his wife went to a car dealer last Sat. and were working a deal with a car dealer. The dealer "lets" them take the van home over the weekend to test drive it. Seen that one. The vehicle has a sold tag on the back. I tell them I think they've bought themselves a van. They ask me to meet them at the dealer on Mon. morning. Arrive at 9 and they're taken into financing to FINISH THE DEAL. The financing guy isn't happy to see me. They're presented with a suck-ass $691 per month for 60 month deal and TOLD to sign($41,460). Ended up with a $568 for 60 months($34,080)deal. $7,380 cheaper.
