I'm in the market for another vehicle, so I do some computer leg work to find which dealership here in Conroe has what I want, and I don't have to worry about dealing with the over eager sales person at each and every lot. I found a vehicle that I really liked, and it had all the options that I was looking for, so I head off to the dealership in search of my test drive. I get to Demontrond, and look around, so as not to seem over eager myself. I find the vehicle there on the lot that I had previously found online, and ask for a test drive. The salesman opens the vehicle for me, and I preceed off down I-45 enjoying the feel of new wheels at my beck and call, getting the new vehicle blinders on as I'm getting a feel how the vehicle handles. SOLD - not so quick!
I get back to the dealership and go in to do the paperwork, and it gets to the point of signing everything, when I asked the salesman about some of the items that were listed online, and on the sales print out thats attached to the vehicle itself, and his reply is; "NO, it doesn't have that, but you can go and have one installed." So I'm thinking to myself that it wasn't that important, and I could probably live without it. I then ask him about the other options that were listed to be on this vehicle, and he then tells me; "NO, it doesn't have those items either." I then tell him that I no longer want the vehicle because it doesn't have any of the items that I'm wanting, and felt that they were being deceptive in their coming up with a price based on what the vehicle is listed to have, and it doesn't have the said options. The salesman then tried to interest me in another vehicle, and I had to keep my temper in check as I thought about all the time I spent to find the perfect vehicle, test drive it and then wait for paper work on it, just to be duped by their false advertisement. Their nonchalant attitude at their pricing scheme is atrocious, and should be looked into. I've learned that I will not waste time in believing that dealerships like Demontrond are beyond ill practices, and I'm glad I asked before signing on the dotted line. Even though everything stated that this vehicle had certain things that it did not, had I signed the papers, I would have been stuck with the vehicle that Demontrond misrepresented.
