I purchased a "NEW" Dodge Intrepid and kept having problems. One day I was on my way to work and the motor "BLEW OUT" on me while traveling on the Interstate. I always and constantly changed the oil. As a matter of fact, I changed it so often it never got a
chance to get dirty. So what was the reason the motor blew out in a new car?

The dealership did not give a good rat's behind about me because they had made a sale and did not care. I could not afford to pay a car note and buy a brand new motor for a new car, therefore, I had to let the car go. I have been going through pure hell every since. I am a heart patient and I have been very ill since this situtation occurred.

I do not appreciate the treatment that I have received from Dodge and I am righteously very indignant. Transportation has been hard for me and now they are trying to force me to pay for a new car with a blown out motor that I do not have and I am still catching hell with transportation problems. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT VEHICLE. To echo someone else's concerns, whatever happened to the Lemon Law?

I need a heart is weak and I was told that I need a transplant. I can not afford to worry about money that I do not have to pay for a car that I, of course, do not have and quit on me before it went back. I pray that God will stop the Dodge or Daimler Chrysler companies from hurting hard working people.

Where is your warranty? It's a NEW car.

AUTHOR: Marc - Makaha (U.S.A.)

In addition, Chrysler makes the same cars anyone else makes, they aren't evil. Your personal problems are YOUR problems. Your heart has nothing to do with the engine failure. I'm just guessing here, but I bet you bought a shiny USED junk car and are expecting a new car warranty, right?

What year model, and engine?

AUTHOR: Robert - Jacksonville (U.S.A.)

Also, how many miles on it when the "motor blew out"? Please provide more on this.

I have a hunch what happened

AUTHOR: Dick - Mankato (U.S.A.)

S.m. "I purchased a "NEW" Dodge Intrepid and kept having problems."

When did you buy it? What model year? The last year for Intrepids was '04. What kinds of problems? At what mileage? How were they resolved?

S.m. "One day I was on my way to work and the motor "BLEW OUT" on me while traveling on the Interstate."

Did the oil light start blinking? Did heat start pouring out of the heater vents? Did the engine make horrible knocking noises, and then die?

S.m. "I always and constantly changed the oil. As a matter of fact, I changed it so often it never got a chance to get dirty."

Every 3k miles? Do you have service records?

S.m. "So what was the reason the motor blew out in a new car?"

What was the mileage when this happened? A car doesn't stay new forever, you know.

I suspect you are another victim of the Chrysler 2.7 V6 sludge monster. Is that the engine you had? They are notorious for self-destructing due to sludge build up, even with oil changes every 3k. The only way to prevent it is to use nothing but synthetic oil for the entire life of the car, but Chrysler doesn't tell you that. They've been stonewalling the problem, but some attempts are being made to file class action law suits. Sounds like it's too late for you. I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you, and I mean that.

The next time you're ready to buy a car, remember: the internet is your friend. Google the make, model, year and engine size you're looking at. I recently bought an '02 Intrepid ES with the 3.5 V6. After reading all the horror stories about the 2.7, I wouldn't touch one with a ten foot crank shaft.
