Hillside Honda THE SALESPEOPLE AT HILLSIDE HONDA ARE CROOKS, RIPPING OFF UNSUSPECTING BUYERS Jamaica New York

On February 16, 2008 I went to Hillside Honda Motors, to purchase a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid.

I had agreed to a price of $21,500 plus $635.00 destination charges with Mohammad Chowdhury (a sales manager).

During the course of the car preparation I had asked to see the paper work on several occasions, but the answer was always the same, that “the paper work was being prepared”. Several hours passed before the paper work finally arrived at 8:00pm. I signed the documents after the dealership had closed for the day. The signing of the paper work was done in a hurry, with Mr. Chowdhury complaining about his bad allergies and his sick child at home (a ploy no doubt to distract me from fully examining the leasing agreement). This was the very first time I had seen these documents. When I arrived home, I reviewed the contract and at that time I noticed that there were inconsistencies in the leasing agreement.

A vehicle with a sticker price of $22,600 plus destination charges of $635.00(total maximum price $23.235) ended up costing me $25,422.72.

After several attempts to have this mistake rectified, I finally met with Joe Shuster, the general manager, on Monday February 25, 2008. At the meeting I was told by Mr. Shuster that since the car was a “SPECIAL CAR" I had "AGREED” to pay above sticker. When I insisted on seeing the paper work trail, I was informed that there was no paper work.

Since this was my first time leasing I wase not well versed on the tactics of dealers, my $6,000 down payment was swallowed up, in essence I was robbed out of $4,000, my monthly payments should have been Approx. $199 instead of $299.

I will contact the Attorney General of the State of New York, this is fraud and fraud is a crime!!!
