In regards to Beth Creglow’s complaint:
Mr. Ohlschwager, her fiancée and Ms Creglow were aware of the $1000 Ford Motor Credit Rebate. They made a bottom line offer. We told them we would do the number only if they took advantage of the Ford Motor Credit Rebate. Ford has rules about incentives. In this case, if the customer opted to take the $1000, they had to finance with Ford Motor Credit. Both agreed to take the $1000 and finance with FMC. They filled out credit applications and saw our Business Manager about the financing. The Business Office discuss the terms of the rebates and APR with FMC. Originally they discussed going with their own Credit Union. However, in order to collect the $1000, they had to finance with FMC. Because of this, they filled out the credit applications at their own will. If they were going with the Credit Union they would not have had to fill out the credit application. So, by filling out the credit ap, both Mr Ohlschwager and Ms Creglow knew the purpose of filling out the credit ap to collect the rebate.
Upfront, we told Mr. Ohlschwager and Ms Creglow that we would not process the paperwork until the government accepted and paid Jenkins & Wynne on the Cash for Clunkers. They knew when they left this was a condition of the sale. The government was not timely in paying these claims. We held the paperwork as a service to the Customer to make sure that all of the paperwork would be correct in the end. In the event that the government denied the claim, we gave the Customer the option of bringing the vehicle back. Once the vehicle is registered that would not be an option.
The Customer originally wanted to title the vehicle in both names. We told them that based on the Cash for Clunkers rules at the time (set by the government), we were only able to title it exactly as the trade-in was titled. We later got a clarification on the rules and called the Customer to add his fiancée. The State of Tennessee will only allow you to add a spouse. They are not married so adding her required us to buy new plates. This is the $50.50 difference in plates that the Customer spoke of. We were only doing what they requested- which was to put both parties on the title and registration.
We did not hang up on Ms Creglow; we tolerated her insults and slander. Mr. Ohlschwager was very profane with our Business Manager as well. We explained all the details to them every step of the way; It has been apparent that the truth is not what they wanted to hear.
