In 2009, my brother decided to trade in his Mitsubishi Montero for an Endeavor. The dealers showed him a car in the showroom and told him it was an SE and they will give him a discount for it being a floor model. Now recently his wife decided to try to sell the car and was told that the car is not an SE, but a base model with a fake SE sticker on the back. That devalued the car and she was not able to get what was expected if it was an SE. We were told that it is not illegal, just immoral for a deal to do that. I for one think it should be illegal and I just wanted to warn people about this. Make sure you do your research before buying a car.
