I call Munday Chevrolet about a ad on TV. It was 8900 for a Colbalt.
The call

Salesman: Munday Chevrolet.
Me: You showed a ad for a colbalt 8900 right?
Salesman:Correct sir.
Me: So if I give you 8900 cars mine?
Salesman: When can we set you up for a test drive?
Me: Can I just go there a do it?
Salesman: Yes just ask for Jeff
Me: Can I finance this or is it a cash price?
Salesman: No you can finance if you wish.

Drive there to do the deal.
Me: Where is the cobalt for $8900?
Salesman: Yes that is on the smartbuy program.
Me: Thats a lease.
Salesman: No thats a purchase.
Me: Theres a balloon payment at the end
Salesman: Yes I believe $8600 or something
Me: That a lease your not fooling me.
Salesman: Ok
Me: So i cant drive out of here owning that vehicle for just $8900
Salesman: No
Me: How much does the cobalt cost in all?
Salesman: Well a base model $14500 and up.

We talked about trades and things. Basically I realized they would give nothing for my truck. He offered his logic on cars and car buying trading and the return you get on vehicles.

Basically they lied to me to get me out there. They lost a customer who had money. Ask if it is a lease on these TV ads. Ask if it is smartbuy? Does not take smarts to figure what they are up to. Wasting your time.
