I was in the process of moving from Costa Rica to Houston, TX and needed a car in a hurry for my new job. I went online and found Orlando Motor Company and the salesman I talked to was John. He ran a credit check on me and gave me my options of a 2004 BMW 325i in my price range. From the pictures it looked nice and he said that it was clean with no accidents. He told me that I would have to leave a deposit in order to hold the car, so I gave one for $500. I asked him if I didn't like the car once I seen it in person if I can get my deposit back and he said "Sure, no problem." When I got to Houston, my wife and I went to Orlando Motor Company to see John and the car. We were disappointed because the car bumber was pushed in and the paint was cracked as evidence of an accident whether be a minor one. The rear view mirror did not work and the car had blotches of touch up paint where there was rust starting. My wife and I were not satified at all. John would not reveal to us who the finance company was that wanted to finance us until we signed the papers. All of that was a red flag to us and we decided go elsewhere and look for a car. So, the next day we went back to ask for my deposit back and John gave me the runaround and said that only the owner could refund the money.

I spoke with the owner Ed Orlando and he offered me half of it back, but I repeated to him what was promised to me and that I was lied to. I wanted my full $500. He declined and said that he would just keep it all and that I would never get it back even if I tried to take to court.

Still nothing but lies from Orlando Motors in Katy, TX

AUTHOR: vcarr - Rosenberg (United States of America)

My complaint is continued with Orlando Motors in Katy, TX. They tried to settle with us for the amount of $300, which would be a little more than half of the deposit. I thought we could settle not taking it to small claims court, but he wanted me to sign a statement that would pretty much say I was wrong and Orlando Motors is good. They also, wanted me to retract my statement on this website. Now because of more lies and their unwillingness to cooperate, we will take this to court.
Take my advice and avoid the obvious rip off!

Reconciliation

AUTHOR: vcarr - Rosenberg (United States of America)

Since I first reported a complaint in regard to Orlando Motor Company we have been able to resolve the issue in detail and have reconciled our differences with management at Orlando Motor Company. I do realize that I made a commitment to purchase a car from them and they went above and beyond to get me good financing with good terms. With that being said I did leave a deposit and I know now they had the opportunity to sell the vehicle to someone else, but held it for me even though I changed my mind about the purchase in the end. After speaking with Mr. Orlando I have a better understanding of why my deposit was not initially given back. We did come to an agreement that I appreciate and I am satisfied with. I can say Orlando Motor Company does try their best to satisfy their customers.
