Sansone Auto and their bank, Motors Financial: I wanted to and tried to purchase a 2005 Toyota Sienna from Sansone's AutoMall dealership. I was told that Motors Financial (their own persoanl bank) wanted me to put down $3500 at 18.9% interest rate on a used vehcile costing only $14,900, with 81,000 miles on it. I explained to Sansone Mazda that I may not have the money to put down and they said that they would work with me. I called Motors Financial to see if they would accept less of a down payment and they refused. What happened to "We Are The Bank"? Sansone can't control their own bank?
So, Sasnsone Mazda told me to write them 2 checks and that they would hold onto it. Well, I get a call today to tell me that they deposited one of the checks and that it bounced. I told the saleperson who sold me the van, that my husband will be returning the van tomorrow morning because we did not have the down payment. His response was "you just realized this now?". I am insulted by his comment ancd reaction, as I told them and made it very clear that I probably would not have that kind of money in a timely fashion.
Anyway, I got a better deal on a 2004 Honda Odyessy EX-L from Pine Belt Chevy in Lakewood, with only $1700 down, a shorter term, and less month payments. I think that is why Sansone is giving me such a hardway to go.

Hi Am in in the same problem not - Can I ask did you have an approved loan out for the car? When you didn't have your down payment and told them you were bringing the car back, Did they consider it a volentary surrender of the car? Did it hurt your credit? I am asking because I am dealing with the same problem with the same place and yes with Mazda they are very very horrible people. Please anything you can help me with would be great I did post a complaint here on Ripoff I believe I filed it on 2/8/12. Thank you in advance

No, it did not affect my credit, and no it was not considered a surrender of the vehicle. I never saw anything on my credit. Yes, they are horrible people over there. If you can, turn back in the vehicle. Let me knw what happens, perhaps, I can advise you further.

We went to meet with Dave the Vice President of Sansone today.... What a
great guy he is! He was so caring and understanding. I can't express
enough how greatful I am! He is un-winding my loan. and we decided I
would just lease. (This was my only way out of a bad deal) He went above
and beyond to make me happy! What a relief...... And Robert Oliveras my
sales rep was the best! Thank you for your reply

I see there are some decent people at Sansone in Woodbridge. I am so glad to hear that everything worked out and that the VP and your sales rep were terrific, that is really good news to hear. Congratulations!!
