Since 1995 there have been scores of reported incidents of loss of brakes, erratic brakes, spontaeous acceleration and unusually high idle in their Outback, Legacy, Forester and Impreza cars. It includes year 2K cars too. Complaints with NHTSA just keep piling up.

Last May Subaru finally acknowledged some sort of problem with the braking system by issuing a recall (after alot of pressure in cyberspace) stating that under severly cold conditions, the brakes could malfuntion and cause you to crash. They say if it happens you are supposed to pump the brakes.

HELLO-- Aren't these ABS cars and you are not supposed to pump the brakes??
They only cover half of their butt because people all over the country still have troulbe and it was in WARM weather. What gives? I created a web site that goes into more detail. .http://home.sprynet.com/~mklphoto/SUBARU1.HTM
