Sussman Sussman Mazda Dealer Lies about work needed to car Willow Grove Pennsylvania

I recently took my car here for inspection. It was a Mazda Protege, about 5 years old. It had 46, 000 miles on it. After dropping the car off, I was called and told that my car needed around $2,000 of work on it. My car had no problems, and had been routinely serviced by Mazda as prescribed in the care manual. It was never involved in an accident, either. The gentleman explained to me what was needed for the car in order to pass inspection. The list was long. I asked for a written estimate, which they provided. For $2000 worth of work to be completed on a pretty good machine seemed alarming to me, and I could not understand if Sussman had been completing the check ups as needed and as I brought the car in routinely, that all of the sudden this amount of work was necessary. I decided to take my car to 2 other mechanics who were well known and suggested to me by friends. Both mechanics agreed that the work described did NOT need to be done. Underneath the car, as one mechanic showed me, the mechanics from Sussman had 'marked' the areas with some type of "paint," which is a mechanics reminder to what parts they told you needed to be fixed. I went with one mechanic and it cost me only for the inspection and they kindly removed the markings placed there by Sussman. The idea, said one mechanic, is that no one usually looks underneath their car, at least I don't!
I was about to put the $2000 into buying a new car instead of getting repairs. I will never go to this dealer again. I have lost all trust in Mazda and in Sussman, who has many dealerships.
