I bought a truck from West Herr Dodge exactly 1 year ago. I recently tried to get it inspected and was told it will not pass due to my emergency break not working. I bought a 3 year warranty when I purchased the truck (it is a 2000 ford explorer sport) I then took it to a ford dealer to have the break fixed under warranty. The told me an inspector from Easy care had to inspect it to make sure break is really not working. I then received a call from ford the next day letting me know the claim was denied and they will not cover it due to the break cable being completely corroded/rusted and they do not cover anything that went wrong due to a rust problem.
I called the dealership I bought it from only a year ago and they said when they inspected it at the time it was purchased it was on the border line of passing but they passed it anyways and now it is my problem to deal with and to pay for it myself! $625.00 TO FIX THIS!!!! My inspection is now overdue and I do not have $625.00 to fix this! It absolutely did not completely rust and break within the one year I drove the truck but it

Who sold you the truck?
Who inspected the truck at time of sale and passed it?
The warranty company? I don't think so.
Point the finger in the right direction!

I have dealt with with West Herr Dodge & Chevy in OP for years and know that they do everything to satisfy customers, they have even terminated service advisers that have showed a pattern of overselling their customers . As a former owner of Fords, i have found that in the WNY winter salt that new parking brake cables have rusted out and frozen after one winter here, and warranties usually don't cover them because of this problem. You should blame Ford and not the dealership. If you had contacted the President, he would probably would have had it fixed it for you, even if it wasn't their fault. My son works there and I know that they highly value customer satisfaction. Everyone I have sent there is very pleased with the service. My brother-in-law even travels all the way from NYC to get his Subaru serviced at West Herr.
