these guys at Oro Valley, Goulder Ranch Rd are either thieves ,like the main article states ,or entirely incompetent because :
I took my van in there for AC inspection as the local pack rats had chewed on my wires i thought . Well they said yes they had and fixed that problem but then said my freon was low and needed to be recharged and then also wanted to run a dye to check for leaks ...Another $198 after the $95 wire fix. When they called me to pick up the vehicle ,as i drove off it made a horrible noise ....i live two miles away so figured if it gave me the same noise next time i turned on the Ac i would return. Well it did and so i returned and to make a long story short, they said my compressor was shot and i needed a new one. Well after about a two month stint of driving around with no ac since i did not have it in my budget to put in another $800 for there estimated repair, my neighbor suggested i take it in to his mechanic.
after sweating another trip to lake havasu in peak summer heat without ac i finally succumbed to his advice.
Long story short , his mechanic said my AC unit was overcharged by about an additional 200 psi and that i was lucky my compressor didn't blow. All they did was evacuate some of the freon and the darn thing has worked ever since, that was a year ago . So you tell me.
Frankly i wouldn't trust Brake Max to even change fluids. I guess a company that has to capitalize on another successful company ( Brake Masters) to drum up customers and confuse them as to whom is the reputable company, already says something about there integrity,eh? I will never go there again. Like i said . Like he said . Boarder-line criminals or just plain incompetent. Its certainly one or the other.
