I drop off my truck last friday (July 10, 2009) for a break cheak at 10:00 AM and the person who recieve and check my truck name was Tommie and he's very helpfull. He even checked my tires and made some recommendations for my next tire replacement by I decline that I'll probably do it next month. All I want to is to have my breaks taken care off.

After more than 7 hours of waiting and $117.00 for fixing my front breaks they called me and told me that my truck was ready. I paid my bill and then got out and did the walk thru which I always do whenever I bring my car or truck for service. To my surprise the RIGHT HAND SIDE of my bumber was damaged. I immediately walk back to the counter and told the first person I saw at the counter that my bumper was damaged. His name is Rhodney and he called the technician that worked on my truck. We walk back to my truck and showed him the damage and even showed him how new chipped paint that took off when I run my finger on it. Rhodney asked his technician if he caused the damaged and not to my my surprise he dinied it which Rhodney back it up and told me upfront that the damage didn't not happened in PEP Boys. I told him that it's impossible because the damage is brand new and there are even some scrape marks on my tire (but no damage) but stil Rhodney denied any responsibility.
I left PEP boys frustrated and will NEVER EVER GET BACK for any service.

Best advice if anyone goes to PEP boys for service take a picture of your vehicle or another option is don't bring your car with them for any service at all.

They should have noted any existing damage...

AUTHOR: Jomo99 - Merced (U.S.A.)

Not surprised that they claim "plausible deniability". Here's what SHOULD have happened;

When you checked in the truck, they should have brought you out to the vehicle and completed what's called a CSR (Customer Service Request). On the CSR form, there's a diagram of a vehicle, and lines to note any existing damage. The Service Writer is responsible for doing this BEFORE you sign for any work and hand over the keys. If it wasn't done or is not BEING done on a regular basis, then its basically your word against theirs. If you take your vehicle in to PBY, INSIST that the CSR get done completely, INCLUDING the walk-around. Not only is this good for you, but also good for them, by 1) Covering their arses, and 2) Bringing up additionals that you might not have considered, like wipers, oil, tranny svc and other things.
