Please see the details of my unresolved problem with Global-automotive below:

Dear Global-Automotive "Management,"

Thank you for your prompt and courteous response. Just a few quick notes:

1) I do not see where your purchase requirements state that defective parts must be verified as defective by a certified GM dealership - would you be kind enough to show me where I overlooked this requirement?
2) My fuel pump connector was replaced and the external connector has no signs of electrical arching (see attached picture).
3) I also work for a ISO9001 "certified" company and we realize that occasionally products do fail. Therefore, it is never an issue for us to replace them.

************************************************************
Dear Valued Customer,

This is what happens when a buyers dont have parts installed by a professional mechanic.

The damage in the pictures was NOT caused by our fuel pump assembly. You are showing us the connector hub off the assembly that does not produce nor is the source of electricity.

How about you show us the MAIN electrical connector that plugs into the top of the assembly. You left that out, why?

All professional GM technicians know that the main electrical connector (Delco part # PT818) is a huge problem due to arcing problems and is REQUIRED to be replaced at time of fuel pump installation. GM has a technical service bulletin for this part to be replaced.

Was the main plug replaced at time of installation? We require a proof of purchase and installation.

Your immediate attention is warranted.

Thank you,
Management

To Whom it may Concern:

I have been experiencing intermittent problems with the pump for several months and it has now died. As you will see from the attached pictures the internal 12v power connection has been loose and thereby has now caused the total loss of power connectivity due to the terminal burning. Please make the necessary arrangements to send out a replacement ASAP or a refund for the defective product.

FYI: I have been a mechanic for 30 plus years

Thank You

Dear Valued Customer,

We are sorry to hear about your experience. However, all our items are ISO9001 certified and tested by both us and the manufacturer before they ship. Please take this to a certified GM dealership or GM goodwrench service center so one of their technician can properly diagnose the fuel system. The fuel system is very large and comprised of many different parts that can cause a failure. Buyer cannot just blame the problem on the last item they replaced. We have been in the fuel systems business for over 22 years and have invested a lot of time and money in testing equipment that we use to check all returned items before we grant an exchange under warranty. We will not exchange working parts, so we kindly ask buyers to check before sending items back.

Can you also send us a digital picture of the item?

Thank you,

Global-automotive Global Automotive Advertises warranty and refuses to replace defective part Miami Florida/ Ebay Seller Internet (updated)

AUTHOR: Ripped off - suffolk (U.S.A.)

To: globalautomotive (globalautomotivemiami@yahoo.com)

Thank you very much for this very pertinent information. It would have been nice to have had this policy available on Ebay prior to any purchase transpiring. As you stated in your prior correspendence, "You left that out, why?" One cannot help but wonder if indeed it was not created after you received complaints... Well I suppose that I will have to chalk this loss up to purchasing from a disreputable seller. I can go to sleep this evening knowing that although I may not be GM certified, I am an experienced and qualified mechanic. I can also be comfortable in the fact that I represent a company that will stand behind its products even though our costs far exceed that of the inferior pump which you supplied and refuse to stand behind.

Thanks Again for You Outstanding Product Support!

Management,

The only time I have felt obligated to utilize a technician at a certified dealership has been when I have a vehicle which is covered under a warranty. As I have worked as a mechanic, I can assure you that in this part of the country, dealers prefer NOT to install customer provided parts. If they do, it comes with a great big caveat stating that they are not responsible for the labor costs related to failed customer provided parts (i.e. if the part fails and needs to be replaced - the customer pays to have the part installed, removed, and replaced). This is considered to be a win-win for the dealer and a flat out loose-loose for the customer. I would tend to think that most consumers in the US are not that foolish. At this point it is abundantly clear that you have no intention of replacing the substandard part which you sold me. Please do not waste any more of my time by replying with your poor excuses. With any luck your poor customer service skills will lead you in the very near future right down the path to a Chapter 13 filing (unfortunate for your creditors)!

Sincerely,
Mr. Dissatisfied Customer

Dear Valued Customer,

Why was this not installed by a GM technician at a certified dealership?

A lot of buyers seen to think that installing a fuel pump is easy and dont require the expertise of a professional. Well it does, this is why we have a company policy in place. This policy has been in place since 2005 and is located directly on our ebay store home page.

#3 Owner of Company

Buyer did not follow our manufacturers warranty

AUTHOR: Kevin - (United States of America)

Dear Buyer and Ripoff Report Community,

We are responding to this claim in an effort to shed some light on the truth and clear our company's good name.

First a little background, Global Automotive has been in the fuel systems industry and it our primary line of distribution. We know the fuel system very well as we have worked very closely with OEM and aftermarket manufacturers. Our main operation is wholesale distribution, but we also sell direct to end users.

Contrary to popular belief, a lot of individuals are not properly trained to install nor diagnose the fuel system. We have a lot of customers trying to install these fuel pumps and not taking the precautionary measures needs at time of installation. The fuel system is also very complex and has many integrated parts. Buyers cannot just blame the fuel pump as the cause of failure without properly diagnosing.

We work directly with several certified dealership techs and all of them will tell you that to properly measure the pressure of a fuel pump is from the feeder hose running of the fuel tank. MEASUREMENTS TAKEN AT THE FUEL RAIL ARE INADEQUETE AND INNACURATE FOR DIAGNOSING A FUEL PUMP.

With that being said, our warranty clearly states that all fuel pumps be installed by a professional technician that specializes in fuel systems. GM dealership or GM goodwrench service centers are a couple good examples. In our experience we have found that most ASE techs and backyard installers are not qualified to install these fuel pumps as they just drop the tank and go leaving a dirty fuel system. Below you will find the exact wording from our warranty:

""Global-Automotive warrants this part for a period of 12 months from date of purchase. We will replace any part shown to be defective in workmanship during this period. A copy of proof of purchase & this warranty certificate must accompany all returned products. Failure to provide said documents will void warranty. All defective parts must be returned to us for inspection & testing before a replacement can be issued. Global-Automotive will not warranty working parts.

Global-Automotive's liability shall be limited to the replacement of the product deemed to be defective. All sales are final, no refunds. Any part which has been altered in any way, accidentally damage during installation, improperly installed, or not used for its' intended purpose, will not be warranted. We do not cover towing, rental vehicles, loss of time, labor charges, or economic loss of any kind.

Global-Automotive requires that part be installed by a professional. Installer must reference & follow the installation guide below:

http://www.carterfueldelivery.com/fuelpumps/pdf/support/TEC1620.pdf

Failure to following the above installation guide will VOID warranty!""

Global Automotive has also invested a lot in testing equipment. We test and measure all returned fuel pumps for accuracy. Of the few that come back, we have found that 98% test well within spec and are fully functional. We cannot warranty parts that are fully functional as a new fuel pump will not cure the REAL problem.

We welcome buyers to send back items they think are defective so we can test. Global Automotive WILL replace any part that has tested outside spec. If any item tests within spec, then we notify the buyer of this and send the part back to them.

Thanks you,
Global Automotive
