On a day when my friend had to get his car fixed I bought at the NAPA Store in Chatsworth, GA (Murray County-should have seen this coming), a starter that cost $271.25. I paid it and went to the mechanic with it. The mechanic told me it was not needed so the same day i brought it back to get a refund for it on my credit card. He said in a smart alec tone "You know we are losing money", don't know murray county people are like that but anyhow. he swiped my card through his machine and i signed the refund slip which i have a copy of. so anyhow i waited and waited to get the refund on my card 1 week later it still wasn't on the so i called my credit card company and ask them what to do. They said that they see the charge on it but not the refund so what they would do is clear it off the account but to get my money back I would have to go back to the merchant to get it. I understood that don't know why he didn't oh yeah he is from murray county.
So anyhow I went back there and he refused to give me the money back only giving me a copy of the transaction slip and the refund slip. So anyhow then I wrote him a letter stating what my credit card company told me what to do thinking he would send me a check for the money, man was I wrong. So I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Chattanooga that was another mistake here I'll tell you why. I filed the complaint telling them what the problem with this merchant was so anyhow I thought they would help me man was I wrong all they did was relay the same message that I gave him kind of like a ping pong game. So anyhow I went on Vacation and when I came back thought the case was still open, nope the BBB closed it and gave the merchant the right. So it seems to me i should have stayed on vacation as in the place where I was at vacation this stuff would never happen. But anyhow so here is a suggestion if you ever have a product to return to this store don't do it as you will not get a refund.
I understand that you pay with the card your supposed to get the refund from the company but when there is a refund the merchant has some rules set by the Credit Card Company called "Merchant Agreement" where it tells the merchant what to do in case of a refund. So instead of doing what he was supposed to he just ripped me off cause I brought the product back the same day and saying that he was losing money. Wish I knew why people in Murray County, GA are such smart alecs not only him but the whole county and some of whitfield also. I wish I knew who to complain to so he would have to give me back the money a court case in small claims wouldn't do it either cause the Judges would take the other persons side especially in that county.. Anyone know if they have a Home Office or someone else I can lodge a complaint with or should I just realize that I got screwed over by this merchant.

If you charged on a card why would you get cash back? Shouldn't it be credited to your card. and if you have a receipt for both purchase and credit dispute charge on card. But it does sound like your trying to rip off the store and the mechanic that you supplied your own parts to. Most likely simple mistake but this kind of fraud is more so than the honest guy trying to get there credit. The situation you describe, I still don't understand why would you slap down that kind of cash if your just not sure you need the starter? Didn't you check the line drop of your cables first? Or last point of power? Dispute the credit card and get back to abusing parts stores with sleazy looking transactions. And i bet they special ordered this starter for you also so you stuck them with the freight.
And every invoice that I've seen clearly states no return on electrical parts.
You probably installed it also the said you didn't need it. There is more to the story.
If you have done this many times before stores see a pattern and they do stop abuse, fraud , dishonesty whatever you want to call it. I don't understand the county thing? Paranoia?

The Card company told me they saw the charge but not the refund this was two weeks after i was at the store to get a refund on a item i purchased that i ended up not needing then the person said "you know we are losing money because of this".
anyhow typical chatsworth,ga smart alec.
anyhow they told me since they didn't see the credit even though they saw it on the receipt of refund i send them to go back to the store and tell them that the card company don't show a refund of the said transaction and thus having the store give me my money back.
to this day $271.25 is owed by NAPA.
