ON January 25, 2008 I purchased a WEN Power generator from PEP Boys in Fort Lauderdale. On July 28, 2009 I noticed a small oil leak coming from a small crack in the engine casing, on a generator which has never been used except for monthly start-up's. As per the Owner's Manual, I contacted WEN Power. They informed me the generator was counterfeit, the Owner's Manual a forgery and would not honor the written warranty.

I contacted the store where I purchased the generator and they informed me there was nothing they could do since it was a manufacturer's warranty. I have written both WEN Power and PEP Boys. WEN has responded in writing denying the warranty claim while PEP Boys has not responded.

Facts of warranty refusal

1. WEN Power never warranted 9000 generators for a period of two years.

2. WEN Power never supplied Pep Boys Auto any sized generator with a two year warranty.

3. Product orgin was not the issue on WEN Power's part but the validity of materials supplied to obtain warranty service after ownership for more than one year.  The manual is believed to be counterfeit  and made by parties unknown to WEN Power.

4. The companies official position is to honor any warranty conveyed by WEN Power but not honor warrenties altered by others and purported to be official. 

5. Finally, it would be unreasonable to expect any company to honor obligations not created by that company.
