i went to the local pepboys to get front brakes put on my car on 3/15/2010 i arrived at the pepboys around 8:50 am. i waiting about 5 minutes before the service manager cam out to asked me what i wanted. i told her i needed front brakes put on my car.
so she went throught the whole process of what make, year etc, etc i gave her all the info needed i also told her that i may need roters also, she said she would have her tech look into the roter for me, i said fine, but i said before any work was don with the roter i wanted to know how much for the new roters.
she said fine, so i sat down in the waiting area, there was 2 other people in the waitin area. and older gentlemen and a lady. so i
m waiting and waiting for her to tell me about my car. i finally go up at 12:30 to find out whats taking so long, she calls the tech. he asked him about my car he said i gave you the "pm" awhile ago. so they looked around for it not even for a minute and they find my paper work, so she reads it and says that i need back brakes new roters and caliber so i didn't want to sepnd that much money so i fugured i get just the brakes put on, she said that she COULD not put brakes on with out roters. so i asked her to find out how much before i could even finish my sentence she said your gonna need new calibers too.
so i said i just can get brakes put on cause i can have someone else putthe rotors and calibers on for much cheaper. she said that she couldn't just put brakes on with out putting on the roters and calibers so i said how much for everything so she looks everything up in the computer it takes her well over 30 minutes to do this plus a few phone calls to the parts place where she gets some parts that they don't have at the store. so she said that the total fot back brakes rotors and calibers and labor was 816 and change. i asked her why so much so she went over with me all the prices here she had me for 49.99 brakes each and 60.00 rotors each and i couldn't make out the price on the calibers. i said i don't wanna spend that much money
she said for my car that's the price i'm gonna pay. i said fine cause now it almost 2 pm so i said how much longer til my car is done, she said about 25 minutes for the calibers to get to the store and another hour for the tech to put the stuff on... i said fine 3:45 rolls around and i go up to the service manger and asks whats taking so long with my car it should of been don now, oh my tech took his lunch and while waiting on the part for your car he started on another one. i said WHAT. she said that he is on the clock and that he was fixing another car waiiting for your part to arrive
i said i've been here since 8:50 am and it 3:45 pm now it's been 7 hours already and i still have to wait she he's almost done. i went up to the counter twice more and spoke to a jushua and he did more for me then the service mangaer did for me, i finally got my car back at 545 pm i paid for the service and left, vamping to my self saying i'll never go back to a pep boys ever again for anything
why on earth would it take 9 hours to do brakes and why would it cost 49.99 for bakes each and 60.00 each for rotors when i got home i looked it up on the inter net and i could of gotten the brakes for 19.99 a pair and rotors for 29.99 a pair so i paid 220.00 for 2 brakes and 2 rotors when all i should of had to pay was 50.00. i want my 170.00 difference for stuff i shouldn't had to pay for and the 8 hours i was stuck at that pepboys..... please respond to my report
