On January 4, 2010 my mother purchased an everstart maxx battery from walmart for my vehichle which cost $75.00 plus taxes and $9 core fee. It came out a little over $90 on the reciept. I tried to return it today with the complete reciepts because I did not need it to begin with and had got a new alternator put in my car. I had told her of my car problems and mentioned it being the battery or maybe the alternator. I took the alternator to auto zone and it failed there test. So I have the alternator replaced, charge my battery that I already had and my car was fixed. And then mom calls me and tells me she bought me a battery for my car.

This Battery has honestly never been moved from the trunk of her car from the time she bought it on 01/04/2010 until today when i went with her to walmart to return it. They said only if it tests bad will they be able to do anything it would only be exchanging it for another exact same battery. I explained as well as my mother the situation and we did not need a battery and never even did anything with this one. It was just not needed. They mentioned testing it to see if it tested bad, but I told them it was brand new and should test good.

Anyways, I looked online when I got home on return policies with walmart batteries and learned all the crooked crap on how people try taking advantage of the warranty on a battery. But my situation is I am returning a brand new battery that is obviously never been put in a vehicle and simply was never needed and bought for me by my mother who was trying to help my situation only. This was less than two weeks ago. I dont get this. I would like any helpful info about and if there is anything I can do. Thnks

Might want to replace it anyway.

Batteries should be replaced every 4-5 years anyway. I don't know how old your current battery is, but if it is that old, I think it might be a good idea to install the new one and avoid any future issues down the road. A bad alternator can also damage a battery.

Unfortunately, electrical automotive parts are almost always sold with a no return policy regardless of the store.
