I rented a car from Avis in Southern California in July. I incurred a parking ticket in San Diego and paid it off within a week. Avis charged $25 on my credit card without my authorization for processing the vehicle violation. I sent them a copy of my check for paying off the traffic violation, but they asked for a copy of the ticket and other paper work that they knew I would not have. Just like the five dollar fee at Bank of America for monthly debit card charges, Avis slams you with hidden charges to increase their bottom line at the consumer's expense. I will never rent from Avis again.
