I planned a trip to Huntsville, AL from Destin, FL. I went online booked my reservation which was a guaranteed quote of $267 and some change. I went to pick up my reservation and was upgraded. I also elected to do the three different insurances on the vehicle which brought my total to $469 and some change (as well as a $200 deposit). I kept the car for an extra day because I was told I didn't have to do anything but that I would just have the extra day automatically charged according to the rate that was on my receipt which was $48.

I decided that I wanted to return the car to the Huntsville location and called Rental Extensions to ask how much it would be to return the vehicle there instead of Destin. The lady I spoke with told me that it would be only an extra $20 and to confirm that I would be returning it to that location. I returned it to the Huntsville location at 8am on Wednesday morning...exactly 1 day after it was due to be returned. So I was working on the math and figured it'd be approximately a $570-$580 charge to my account.

Imagine my suprise and delight to discover that I was charged $692 by Hertz. I called the billing department to try and find out why I was charged such a drastic amount for ONE DAY! and repeated my story to her. She told me that Rental Extensions had no record of quoting me that price and that I was charged for the week plus an extra day and an extra hour (there was no extra hour!) and that she would not refund me the extra money.

Needless to say I should have stuck with Enterprise they treat me ten times better or I could've just bought me a plane ticket!
