My car wouldn't start. I called tow service. Tow truck driver felt the problem was the corrosion on the battery so I loosened cables on the battery and washed off corrosion. Then I put cables back on battery and tightened as best I could which wasn't very tight. Car still wouldn't start. Driver gave me a jump and said the car would run off the alternator. Drove directly to Brake Masters. Told Chaz, the Manager, about jump, washing acid and removing cables. Chaz said it could be the alternator, "we'll check it".

I told him battery cables were loose, he still went ahead and had his man check it and said alternator was not charging enough. Gave me a price on alternator and battery. I told Chaz I had to go home and check my finances and l'd call him. Once I was home I called him and said I decided to take the car elsewhere and if he would please put my car in the parking lot adjacent to the work area and thanked him for his trouble and apologized for his inconvenience and I'd be right over to pick up the key and have it towed away shortly thereafter.

When I arrived at Brake Masters, my car was "parked" in the line of traffic, not in a parking space, unlocked and with the key in it. I took the key out of the car, walked in the lobby and asked Chaz why he left my car where he did. His response was "We just had to get it out of our way and the alarm to the car was going off so we just cut the wires". There was grease smeared all over the drivers side headlight. People were asking me to move my car as it was blocking traffic but I couldn't.

I was very polite with Chaz and feel he didn't need to treat me with disrespect as I am 58 yrs. old with a heart condition and dealing with this on a 110 degree day. I had it towed to another shop and was told "you can't get a good alternator reading with a dead battery". I think these guys at brakemaster in surprise az are bad actors and would never recommend them to anyone. I think they were dishonest and mean-spirited.

Not to bust your bubble

AUTHOR: Joe - Atco (U.S.A.)

Not to bust your bubble, but the 2nd mechanic you went to that said that you cant check a alternator with a dead battery is not a mechanic. If you jump the car and the vehicle is running you most certainly can check the output of an alternator. I seriously doubt that he pushed your car into a busy street with traffic and left it there. Bottom line is you didnt like his diagnonis and price and you brought it elsewhere to save a dollar. It sounds like the 2nd guy you brought it to will be on the rippedoffreport as well when he doesnt diagnos it properly.

Never looked at the car

AUTHOR: Chaz - SURPRISE (U.S.A.)

My name is Chaz, I am and have been the manager of the Surprise Brake Masters for the last six years. The car in question was never looked at, and was in the same place and condition as when the customers tow truck driver left it, in the isle way. It is unfortunate that you have the ability to talk negative about one of the only honest shops in Surprise..................
