Cottman Transmission Poor service, deception, abused & mistreated Metairie, Louisiana

I had my 1999 Suburban transmission rebuilt by the Cottman's in Metairie, LA (some distance from my home)after the "reverse planetary gear" failed. After a week I picked it up. After I got the vehicle home, I noticed that the gear indicator indicated the wrong gear. I took it to the local cottman in slidell louisiana. The local cottman indicated that it wasn't a transmission problem. The place in metairie (over an hour away) said they could look at it. As the car is used daily I and I am disabled I asked they have it done locally, which they refused.

On 4/15/03 the vehicle became stuck in park. I had to have it towed to the local Cottman's. The local Cottman's indicated it was leaking and that the metairie shop would pick it up. The Metairie shop had it towed down there. By Friday, 3 days later they said that they had fixed the leak, but the car was still stuck in park, but claimed it was not a transmission problem.

They said they would have it towed to the dealership in Slidell. The car didn't show up Friday, nor Saturday. Cottman's claimed that the tow truck hadn't shown up and he had called him multiple times. On Monday, the car didn't show again.

Once again Cottman's said the tow truck hadn't shown up. Cottman's said that they only used one particular service. On Tuesday, Cottman's siad they were still waiting for the tow truck. Cottman's, however, refused to give me the name of the tow truck company. Finally, the vehicle was towed to the dealership.

The dealership got the name of the tow truck company. We contacted the tow truck company who indicated that they did alot of work for various Cottman's, but they were first contacted on the morning the vehicle was towed.

The dealer just called. He indicated that the battery was dead and that there was grease all over the front carpet of the car.

Cottman's has clearly deceived us about calling a tow truck (he says he called a different one, but refuses to give the name), damaged our vehicle, and left it in worse condition than when it came to him.
