I had a rather dissatisfying experience at the Ed Bozarth Chevrolet in Aurora. I took in my vehicle (S10 ZR2 4x4) to be diagnosed today (Friday October 31st, 2008), because the "service engine soon" light was on. I was given a service agreement to sign, which I did sign, but I didn't know the shown charge of $98.10 was for diagnostic charge only, because I thought the agreement was that, I pay for actual repair, and not just for discovering the issue (many auto service companies do offer free diagnostics to figure out what's wrong but they only charge for actual repair). The guy name Garret was the person who told me that if the issue is not covered under my current warranty, then I must pay for the repair, which I agreed, but they did not repair the issue. They only discovered the issue (gas cap was not sealed tight, which I repaired myself by replacing it with the original cap). I thought the charge was unfair (even though it was later lowered to ½ or $49.05), because the fact my vehicle was under warranty, plus the issue was not repaired, thus no charge should have been made (even if the issue I had was not covered under the warranty, diagnostics should be offered to a customer a warranty).

The guy should have told me diagnostics aren't free for anyone, instead of having me sign something while telling me lets see if your warranty covers the issue.

From my experience with Ed Bozarth Chevrolet, some service agents there seem to be friendly only when they are selling their vehicles, and not when services are requested. I think their current customer service practice should be reviewed for correction, and diagnostics service should be offered as a customer service courtesy as long as the vehicle being served is under a warranty (charge only when repair is made).

They extended my warranty because the vehicle was a lemon. I took that 2003 chevy S10 4x4 in more than a dozen times over the last 5 years I owned it, mainly in the first 2 years or so (some of the things repaired: alternator, mail seal gasket twice, muffler, oil cooler lines twice, power steering pump, thermostat housing 3 times due to a warp in the metal and airconditioning compressor line).

I was very unhappy with Ed Bozarth Chevrolet, and I would never recommend the company to any of the people I know.
