Firestone Credit National BEWARE OF FIRESTONE CREDIT CARD - EXTREMELY DANGEROUS - REPORTED TO COLLECTION RIGHT AWAY Saint Louis, Missouri

Please be extremely beware of acquiring a credit card from Firestone. I dont think their service any location is good but most people go there for cheap repairs. I have learnt a good lesson from Firestone.

Due to their cheap prices and proximity to my home, i used to visit Firestone locations very often. I was never satisfied with their service but i stuck with them because of their good prices thru coupons available online and mail. One day, a person who i began knowing at the store coaxed me into taking a credit card.

I later decided it was hard to maintain too many credit cards and decided to close it. I missed the payment of the last statement that comes after closing the account. Kind of miscalculated and was little careless. The next call i received was from a collection agency ... I did not even receive a warning. Now this is on my credit report. Dont know what to do as i had excellent score until now (780). Due to this, the score suddenly fell drastically.

I feel this is too much of a punishment for missing a payment just once. If they called me directly i could have paid it off right there and be done with it. Firestone prefered to teach me a lesson rather than make a phone call to receive their payment.
