ford recall ripped me off

hi my name is chip what happend is we bought a 1991 ford arrowstar van well it had a bad ignition switch well the story goes this way ok my wife was driveing down the road and all of a sudden the collum started smokeing big time than cought on fire while my wife and baby was driveing well she pulled over and it started fire smoke every where big time and way a passer bye stoped and put out the fire for her thank god no one got hurt well we put the van in a shop they told us to take iot to ford to get fixed under the recall well as we did that they had to inspect it well 5 months later us with out a van they come back and tell us remeber after 5 months no van they tell us that its there foult and than tell us they cant fix it its to much money well it wasnt totaled but burnt the dash electrical harnis well any way all we wanted was either the 5000.00 we payed for it or fix it they offered us 1700.00 for it and they keep the van hellow we just bought it for 5000.00 so they gave usa a dead line 3 days or for get the offer wheres that bring us no van i want to know how they can get a way with all this cus they got there own consumer afairs im looking for some one to please help us just get what we got coming for the damage they did they gave us a estamit for 3800.00 all we want is for them to pay why should they get a way ewith this cus there a big company not fair people have died from this recall i still got all the parts all i want is them you pay for it any one else want to know about all this im me or call me ill tell all ok chip

ps theres got to be a way for people not to get ripped off when big companys wont pay for there mistakes
