*BEWARE* of the following RIP OFF ad on Craigslist for "Mobile Auto Repair 410/903-2145 (serving maryland)"

His listing names him as "J. Michael" which he conveniently leaves out his last name.  It is oddly enough "Winner" (..shaking head).

He boasts "mobile" auto repair and that is only because after he steals your parts and money, he doesn't want you to know where he lives.

In his usual ad in Annapolis Car Repair on Craigslist, he even says he will get you "discounted parts".

WOW...mobile AND discounted parts...how could it get better???  His shtick is to show up, probably in his used BMW, hey, what thief drives a BMW, right?  He will get into your issue all the while smoking and leaving butts on your property, but as it turns out that is the best part of the "Winner Experience". He will pull your part, mutter the words, "this is a little worse than you told me on the phone", then he will "Hook You Up", by calling or at least pretending to call some "friends" in the industry that have parts cheaper than Advance Auto.  He will jerk around some more and as he conveniently does his work mostly late afternoon, it runs into night...which is his cue to say... "its late, I am sure you have things to do, my friend just text me back has the part and if you pay me tonight, I will be back first thing in the morning.

He tells you about his family, his kids, his former job (he just got laid off of course) and again, the BMW thing....so wanting to help a guy out you trust him and give him your money and he takes your part for core charge....then guess what?  HE WILL NOT SHOW UP AGAIN!

Worst part is that even had he not ripped me off, he BUTCHERED the area around my part to get my part out and that cost me more in replacement parts!

So to RECAP, his name is John Michael Winner or "J. Michael" on Annapolis Craigslist.  His phone number is 410-903-2145 and his last known address is 1701 Chamberlain Crofton, MD 21114

Seriously, I couldn't make this stuff up!  *BEWARE*!

SLANDER

AUTHOR: J. Micheal Winner - crofton (United States of America)

I talked to a customer by phone when they contact me, and I am very clear on my prices. This person contacted me with a car repair issue. I am clear to make it understood of my service call fee. i charge 65 dollars to show up, diagnose the problem, and communicate to customer what it will take to fix the vehicle, and also provide a visual checkout of tune up parts, brakes, belts, tires, and whatever i can for an inspection to aid customer in other areas of their vehicle to save them money, and so they can have issues resolved at the same time I am diagnosing their original problem. This person had me drive 20 miles to their house, diagnose their problem, and offer to put a half hour labor toward fixing their problem. They complained after I came out and diagnosed this issue, of not being able to afford to pay my fee. I offered to discount my service call. Again, a service call fee covers; me driving to wherever the car/truck is, diagnosing problem, offering a solution to fix it, 30 minutes of labor toward fixing the problem, an all over VISUAL inspection, and going above and beyond to make customer happy. Anyway, i did all that. I was able to fix the car, and while i was there, customer had me look at a bunch of other issues that i gave them alternatives to fixing those issues as well. The person said they couldn't afford to pay me. However, they could afford to get the parts needed for other issues the vehicle had. I did everything expected out of me, other than do it for FREE. I was able to resolve original issue and they wanted me to fix an entirely separate issue, which I had no problem with performing. They gave me money for a part that I was to come back later in the week to install, due to customer not being available and still did not pay my service call fee. $60 They were to call me back if problem returned. I didn't here from them, so I called them back. Customer was happy and said that problem had not returned, but they could not afford to pay labor for the other job that needed to be performed. They told me they would call me when they wanted it done. I returned part after more than a month had passed, due to no communication, and they never payed me my initial service call fee. I finally received a call 2 months later. I explained that I couldn't wait forever for a return call to come back out and reminded them of service call fee that was promised to be paid from first visit and still had not been paid. At this point their other problem was becoming an issue. I explained how I would be glad to come back, however they had to buy part again. I wasn't going to put my own money out for an UNRELIABLE customer that didn't want to pay, but wanted services rendered. I explained how part money and service call fee cancelled each other out. I am not here to work for free. I am trying to make some money, and provide a service, not a charity. So slander me all you want. Anyone that contacts me, I will give more than 50 or so references of people that have used my services and recommended me to others. My phone number is listed, so feel free to contact me for them. As you will notice, there are no other complaints. I have been doing mobile auto repair as a side business for more than 20 years. Anyone that has ever had a problem or wasn't completely satisfied,  I have tried to go out of my way to make customer happy and satisfy all needs and concerns.

Point one: Slander is a false SPOKEN statement harmful to another's good name and reputation. You're confusing this with libel, which is a WRITTEN defamation.

Point two: The central element of both slander and libel is that they must be untrue. You have thus far failed to demonstrate anything written here about you is in fact a falsehood. You should change the title of your rebuttal from "Slander," to "True Things Anonymous People Write About Me on the Internet that Hurt My Feelings."
