My wife and I have taken our 2002 Ford Focus into the Midas in Colorado Springs THREE TIMES and in Lawton, OK. It is STILL doing the same crap. We spent a total of $841. They always had an excuse on what was wrong with it. The first time (in Lawton, OK), we spent $560 because they said that we needed to change out the rotors and rear drums and shoes. As soon as we took it out of Midas, it started squeaking LOUDER. They said that they would have to order better shoes. So, we did. Then, we took a trip to Colorado Springs. On our way back from Colorado Springs, we noticed that the two sides of our car were covered with brake dust. So, we took it to the Lawton, OK store. They said that was NORMAL for new brakes to do that. Hmmm... So, they changed the shoes, yet again. A couple of days later, they started squeaking. We didn't have the time to have them changed in Lawton, OK. We took the car into the Midas in Colorado Springs to have THEM check it. We spent $65 for Midas to SHAVE THE SHOES DOWN. Again... Hmmmmm. This last time we took the car in, we spent $216 for Midas to change out the emergency brake cable. They told us that the cable was "frozen" and that was why it was squeaking. Trust me, we will contact their headquarters in Illinois about this and we will NEVER do business with them. We will take it to FORD to have the job done right. I know it will be a lot more money, but at least my family will be safe and the brakes won't squeak.

Fixed

AUTHOR: Brandon - Lawton (U.S.A.)

Midas ordered all Ford parts for the rear brakes two weeks ago. After the parts arrived, we went back to get them put on at no charge to us. We all thought that part of the problem came from the front brakes also, so Peter George, their Regional Manager, told that Midas store to replace the front pads also. The brakes don't grind or squeak anymore. It's now fixed and we are happy with that, but we think that no one should go through the hassle and frustration that we went through to get this problem resolved. However, it seems to me that Peter made this problem one of his own and he wanted to do everything he could to get it fixed.
