I went to this auto shop because I needed a timing belt replacement which would cost about or less than $300.00. I received a call about an hour later at my cell phone and the sales rep. said I need brake pads replacement; he insisted the brakes were paper thin and I really need brakes. Despite that I said I did not want the service.
About 5 minutes later, he called back and said, I needed the brakes probably even before the timing belt because they were paper thin. I would not be able to immediately verify what the sales person was saying because I was going out of town the following week...so I tried to negotiate with the sales rep. He said he lower the price for the service.
When I got back to the shop I asked for the parts (brake pads) back. A week later, back from my trip, I checked the brake pads and realize not a single one of the brake pads are paper thin; as a matter of fact, they still have more than 12K miles left on them, if not more. This service was not needed immediately...I could have saved money by doing it myself, but I was lied to and pressured in order to agree to receive the service.
