Monro Muffler Wallingford, CT Botched repair destroys my transmission Wallingford Connecticut

I went in for a routine oil change and was told that my transmission was leaking. They reccommended replacing the rear main seal. I let them do it because the mechanic assured me this was something they could handle.

My car was returned to a few days later, the following day my transmission was leaking all over the garage floor. I had the car towed back. I received my car two weeks later and the car was running rough and my transmisssion completely broke down while I was driving. The car was towed again back to Monro. At this point I spoke with the corporate office, my case was referred to their insurance company, Travellers. I was given a rental car while a transmission was put in by a transmiision shop. This first transmission worked for about a week, the second put in was a rebuitl and is still working fine.

This fiasco started on Jnauary 10 2008 and on March 3 2008 I am driving my own car.

My complaint:
First Monro double charged me for a machine shop fee, this was afterwards refunded to me.
Second I paid $597 for the rear main seal repair(which was never done correctly), I was refunded $250.

Between these two charges i feel the ethical thing to do would be to refund me the remaining $697 for this repair that was never done correctly.

Monro's response is that I'm in a better place than I was before (I have a rebuilt transmission) . I don't agree.
