Went to pep boy for front rear bearring. They gave a good price, left it, 12 hours later they call an said brake line is bad I said replace it, 9 hours later they call an said brakes, pads rotor and steering knuckle were also bad. I ask how much they said $500. I told them I would call them back, when I did they told me they missed added it would be $800. So I went to them an they told me it was actually $900.

They gave a wriitten statement for the first job when I went there, an then they kept upping the price, then at the end they said we well not do just the bearring it all or nothing, when I told them nothing they charge me for looking at the brakes. which I did not ask them to look at, and for three day they had the vehicle they did not even work on it.

AFTER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE

I WAS CLEANING THE INSIDE AN NOTICE THAT I WAS MISSING SEVERAL THINGS. UPON CALLING THE PLACE THAT I HAD IT REPAIR AT [AFTER HAVING IT REMOVE FROM PEP BOY'S] AN ASK THEM WHERE IT WAS STORED AT THEY ADVISE ME IT WAS LOCK UP INSIDE A BUILDING. SO I CALL THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY AN THEY EXPLAIN TO ME THAT PEPS HELD THE VEHICLE FOR TWO DAY BEFORE RELEASING IT TO THEM. [REASON I WASN'T AWARE OF THE PICK UP DELAY THE PLACE THAT I HAD IT REPAIR TOLD ME IT WOULD BE READY BY FRIDAY SO I THOUGHT THEY HAD IT AN THEY DID HAVE IT READY BY FRIDAY.] I CALL PEP BOY THEY TOLD ME THE DELAY WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T GIVE THEM TIME ENOUGH TO PUT THE TIRE BACK ON [10 MINUTE JOB] AN ITTOOK THEM A DAY TO DO IT AN THEN A DAY FOR THEM TO CALL THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY. SO I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ITEM MISSING THEY SAID OH WELL, THAT YOUR PROBLEM SUE US.

Ohhh boy, Pep boys had to work on the brakes to replace the bearing, but they sure bungeled their customer relations. WOW First they didn't make sure the customer understood the nature of the job, second they failed to check the problem completly and quote accuratly, then when they have upset the customer so badly he want's it towed away they can't even release his car in a timely manner. Again WOW. How to ailenate and upset customers. Somebody needs re-training and monitoring.
