Pep Boys Automotive let engine overheat and ruined engine El Paso Texas

After spending $2,200.00 for some repair work, the engine had some serious overheating problems--for some reason they replaced the thermostat and it was faulty, thus after taking back the vehicle every day for three days and them telling me that the computer reading was wrong---this vehicle now overheats to the " stop enging "notice everytime and cannot be driven.

The manager "ralph" said that it ( the water heating problem) was a preexisting condition after contacting the Cadillac Dealership ( after all work was screwed up) very convienent huh? So----Here i am--no vehicle to drive

It sounds pretty clearly like they messed something up. Call 1-800-PEPBOYS and file a complaint first. Take your car to a DEALER and have it diagnosed and inform corporate of what the DEALER found. If it does have something to do with faulty repair then you can ask to be reimbursed the full amount. If they refuse, your next course of action is to file a complaint with the BBB, MAP, The Attorney Generals office and bring the issue to court. Most times, PBY will settle out of court or reimburse your your funds to avoid a court battle.

Driving your car in an overheat condition until it shuts off is not in your best interest either, however. That shows neglect on your part. If PBY can show that even though you had issues with the car you chose to drive it in it current state and damaged the engine, that will probably release the company from some liability. Just food for thought.
