Speed Unlimited Clovis/Fresno Dan, Ron, Mike, etc (assorted oddballs) DO NOT BOTHER WITH SPEED UNLIMITED! Clovis, California

I see others have the same opinion of Speed as I do.  Bad.

There are too many quality shops in the Fresno/Clovis area to bother with these jerks.  Strange collection of misfits.  Unreliable.

I am an ex customer. I made the error once. The old saying, Screw me Once, shame on you, Screw me twice--shame on ME. Won't be a second time.

Ron the owner is an oddball.  A control freak ex military screwball.  Dan might be a decent mechanic but flakey. Dan has the balls of a parakeet. I heard from old customers at a shop who dealt with Dan when he had his old Clovis shop (which he lost and customers lost money on him too), then I began to realize what a flake Dan is. Speed Unlimited has tried to carve out a nitch. They did. A nitch of losers, poor reputation and strange conduct. Ron retired?  GOOD!  Ron is one of those ex military types who probably has a bunker build in his back yard waiting....control freaks are mental cases.

The other assorted individuals could not get a job sweeping the streets. I specifically asked the north shops who works for Speed Unlimited, why are everyone so down on them? and more. One shop told he would not even work on their repairs if Speed Unlimited has previous repaired it.  I spoke to the VW dealership. Same story.

 I went to 4 maybe 5 shops in to Iwn-they all negative things to say about Speed Unlimited. I talked to a parts house in town and the counter people all said that Speed Unlimited has a poor reputation and its best not to return.  You can't rip off customers without competitors finding out. I had to have the work re-done that Speed said was completed. It was a waste of money. I now wished I had sued them in court.  One parts house said they have not heard ONE good thing about Speed Unlimited except their business is drying up.

So why did they close one shop and move? Why is the town so down on them? Reputation? Competence? Agrivation with strange personalities?  Drugs? WHo knows. Who cares. I found two highly qualified mechanics to work on my bugs in North Fresno.  The word will spread again. I give the clovis location a year.

The man across the street was taken for literally $1000's of dollars by Dan in 02. I heard many strange tales through the grapevine about Ron S, Dan B and the other fruit, but not until I spoke with various shops did I learn that the consistant drumbeat of horror tales.  When their employees ride the FAX bus..

If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it's a duck. Save your time and effort,

Speed Unlimited won't be in business long. History will repeat itself, along with customers like myself who tell others about their negative experinces.

I found 1 positive aspect about Speed Unlimited. They closed the Belmont shop for good. It has not sold. Ron is still strange. Dan is still a mouse. The other employees are still kooks.
