Somehow, something does not make sense! How can the alleged "poor quality parts" cause $800 damage to the front brakes on the vehicle? It is Physically IMPOSSIBLE! Obviously, your "Trusted" Ferrari mechanic is the one that is trying to take you for a ride now. Let's look at the cost of parts on a Tahoe.. As the previous writer stated, Rotors $60-90 each, Pads $55 or so, hoses, on most Tahoes should be around $30 each.. Calipers $40 each, plus, oh, probably 2.5 hours of book time on the labor. Total cost? MAYBE $500, and that is ONLY IF EVERYTHING is bad. I find it hard to believe that the hoses that were replaced a year ago have gone bad, that is almost impossible. And, as far as the "cheap" parts.. how does Ferrari man know that they are "cheap"? The only thing that I see happening here is that you are hard on the brakes, and are forgetting that you are driving a TRUCK, (yes, a truck), and not a Chevy Metro. Trucks are heavier, and will wear brakes faster as well. You do not mention how many miles you have put on the vehicle, or anything..
Plus, IF the brake hoses were not on your original, itemized invoice, then you did NOT pay for them to be replaced. It really is quite simple. If we didnt have customers like you running around, that obviously have Nooooo mechanical knowledge at all, and apparently cannot understand how to read your reciept either, life would be much better!
So, go to your ferrari man and pay him his outrageous price to fix your tahoe, and now you can become HIS nightmare. Hey, at least he is charging you enough to make up for the aggravation that you are going to cause him!
