I purchased a Crimestopper's car alarm from Dura Sound Security in Stratford, CT on 02/23/04. I paid $300 for the alarm. About a month after I purchased alarm the store was out of business & all of the business from that store was transferred to King Car Audio in New Canaan.A month after using the alarm my remotes for the alarm stopped working. I went to King Car Audio to see if they could fix the problem. They changed the battery in the remote. 2months later I had the same problem, so they changed the battery again. Finally, the 3rd time that the remote to the alarm stopped working

Getting the new remote helped for about 3 months, & then the alarm stopped working again. I finally went back to King Car Audio on 12/9/05, & explained to them that the alarm was still not working. They changed the battery again & the alarm stopped working the next day.

I went back on 12/17/05 & I was told I had two choices they could remove the whole system from my car & send it back to Crimestoppers or I could pay an additional $100 & they would upgrade me to a $550 alarm (Astra 4000RS-2W Series) as a courtesy. I did not want to be with an alarm because I have an Acura Integra which is the number one stolen car in my area.I argued that I haven't have the alarm work for the whole time I had it, & I felt they should upgrade me for free, & they refused. I finally opted for the $100 upgrade even though I was not comfortable with it. I get the new alarm put in, & I check online to see if the value of the alarm was really $550 I searched the net & found out it was $100 alarm. I have now paid $400 for a $100 alarm. The Astra 4000RS alarm has the remote start as an option, but they told me if I wanted that option activated I would have to pay more for the alarm. I opted not to activate that option,because I was just happy to have an alarm on my car that worked.

I have wasted a lot of time and money trying to get an alarm that works. I want the $300 I orginially paid for the first alarm back.

Hi Autumn,

I'm sorry to hear that you were very disappointed with the fact that you were overcharged. First of all, you had purcahsed and installed the security system at a different store. We only warranty equipment that was originally installed at our shop. We replaced your non-working unit and charged you a $100 bucks to cover the installation portion of the install. I understand that you can buy it on-line for a lot less. Buying online has its ups and downs, warranty issues, sending it back if it's defective ( paying for shipping and reinstalling fees ). We work with all our customers to make sure they leave happy.

The previous rip off report is unsubstantiated. King Car Audio only represents quality

I have read the previous rip off report concerning King Car Audio and speak candidly when I say "It's Ridiculous!"

I have been dealing with King Car Audio for years for my Honda Accord and they have been excellent. If I ever have a problem with a product, King Car Audio representatives attend to it immediately. They never let things slide and always perform quality work. And it does not matter if they have numerous customers, because they always get the job done.

I have never felt or encountered a time when King Car Audio did not care or spend the time to explain products or how they work. From the alarm system to the elaborate car audio components, I am proud to say that I am a King Car Audio customer.

Completely satisfied with KCA

King Car Audio has worked on 3 of our cars and we are happy with all three. In each instance the projects were completed above par and it's been 6 months now and everything is working as if the team installed it yesterday.
