I got my oil changed at our local Jiffy Lube. while there, they told us that we needed to have our transmission fluid changed and they would give us $11 off if we did it there. We were not able to afford it at the time but would be back at the end of the week when we got paid.
After talking to a mechanic friend, he said that yes it is something you need to have done.
We returned and had Jiffy Lube flush and replace our transmission fluid. It went fine, I guess,but the next day we returned to find a sticky note on our door.
A tech from Jiffy Lube had driven to our house to put in an additive for our transmission. We were not home at the time so he left a note that we needed to come in ASAP!
I called to find out what kind of additive they wanted to find out and they told me the transmission fluid they put in my car was 'not capatible' with my car and that this additive would make it 'compatible'.
When I got upset about the 'non-compatible' fluid, they quickly back-pedaled and said that it was just a generic fluid they used for everything.
I quickly called the Hyundai dealership and asked about what type of fluid I was supposed to have. They said Jiffy Lube had put in fluid for a Subaru and they should not put in any additive.
After a long argument with the manager and some very rude behavior from the owner, he agreed to refund my money. When I showed up, they said they would only refund my money if I signed an e-mail from the owner saying that any work would void the warranty. I refused and left without my money.
I now have a case number with Jiffy Lube Corporate but it sounds like they will not do much. Either way, I am not returning to Jiffy Lube!
Any ideas on how to get my money back?
