I went into Right Honda on Monday July 19th 2010 to get an oil change and tire rotation for my 2009 Honda Accord.

Here is what I had done:

Express oil and filter change special (includes 21 point inspection) Replace dust and pollen filter (Hepa/Pollen filter) Rotate tires as per owner manual.

After waiting for 1 hour I was called stating my car is completed. They said your in Hepa/Pollen filter is dirty would you like that replaced too. I said okay. Another 20 minutes later I get the bill and saw the dirty filter.

1 hepa filter cost $30.00 and install that took their tech 5 minutes costs $50.00. With tax bill was over $80.00 just for the in car hepa filter. I googled it and could have replaced it myself behind the dashboard for $15.00 via the part at a local auto parts store.

So lesson learned will never pay that again.

2 days later (July 21st 2010) I leave home for work. One of my dash lights kicks in stating I have dangerously low air in one of my tires. I pull over and check the tire. No leaks heard no nails or anything in my tire. Go to the local gas station. Right rear tire is down to 20psi and is missing the dealership air seal that was on it before I brought it in for the oil change. right front tire is up to 38 psi. Checked my oil looked dirty and only a little gold to it.

21 point inspection signed by Tech: 124 Jorge Guzman. Didn't add air to one tire and over inflated another one. From looking at the oil it doesn't look like it was changed at all or if it was they didn't flush it like the 21 point inspection said prior to adding new oil. That or the oil filter wasn't changed.

I called and left a Voice Mail for the highest ranking manager to call me. Have heard anything back from Right Honda. I will never bring my new car back there for a service ever again.

If it wasn't for my new car having good features like telling me when my air is bad I could of popped a tire and crashed.

Right Honda Unethical business practices

AUTHOR: Johnny - Surprise (USA)

Update: July 22, 2010

Never had a call back from anybody at right honda.

had to take my car into another service station not related to the Honda Corp. My tire light wouldn't turn off. They found a spike in my tire and fixed it.

I explained how much I paid for my hepa filter replacement and they said it is against the law to over charge a person for that via the labor laws.

The OEM part for a hepa filter price is $20.29 for a honda accord 2009 V-6 3.5L

Right Honda charged me $38.95.

The labor replacement should of been Skill level B time .2 about $15.00-$25.00 at the most.

Right Honda charged me $50.00 for labor.

The most they should have charged would have been $45.29.

They charged me a total of 88.95. Basically double charged me for parts and labor. This is illegal and I want somebody from right honda to make this RIGHT!

To whom it may concern:

We are a 100% trained Honda franchise repair facility. We use Honda inspection forms and Honda tools to perform all express services. It is easy for this person to blame or insinuate we did not do his service correctly or to state we are charging too much and not give us a chance to show him or prove this is incorrect information stated by him. He did not put an invoice number or customer name on his statement. We are and have always been one of the most affordable Honda stores in the Phoenix metro area. The list price for a Hepa filter is $109.95 installed. We continually run coupons for $69.95 to $79.95 every month. We also perform express service "lube Oil and Filter" for $19.95 to $26.95. Yes we can be beat when shopping aftermarket vs. factory parts, and factory trained technicians vs none factory trained technicians. We perform approximately 2100 express services every month and have yet to see any comments like this posted. We have one of the highest customer satisfaction scores of any Honda store in the nation. If this kind of statement is going to be posted I feel some research should be performed prior to posting this type of information.

This customer states that two days after service was perforrmed he found his tire low. The light on the dash would have on prior to his leaving our facility if we had not performed our job. It sounds as though he picked up a nail or someone let air out of his tire and took his one missing valve stem caps. We use only calibrated air nozzles and torque sticks to tight wheel lugs. We also use measuring tool to measure tire depth and brake pad measurements on every car. We use a battery load testing tool with print out on every car serviced at our facility. We do no service until an accurate estimate is given and approved by the customer prior to work being performed.

We have never received any message stating this information. Please feel free to contact me if there is any additional questions I can answer or address.

Thanks again,

Andy Kirby
