I recently went back to this Western NY Valvoline Instant Oil Change on Niagara Falls Boulevard near the 290 to have service performed on my Buick Regal. I did this despite having their Lockport NY location fail to tighten an oil filter on my Chevrolet S10 causing complete loss of oil pressure on a truck with a new short block that had been installed less than 10,000 miles earlier. Going to this location had them in the course of replacing the oil and flushing the cooling system, add a stop leak additive for no reason to the coolant without asking or telling me, I just wanted the system flushed and coolant added. In addition, the store manager, Robert Karnuth, while checking the cabin air filter, instead of removing the cowl cover properly, grabbed the thing, yanked on it, breaking the retaining clip and then made a joke about how it popped off of there as I watched it go shooting across the shop. He then made no effort to fix it, and sent me on my way after sticking his face into my passenger compartment and glaring at me knowing he had just broke a part of my car. I discovered once I got home that this was the case and that he left other filler caps, battery post covers, and fittings loose or not connected. During the course of this they made some crack about how they change oil for Avis, probably not the thing to tell me since I had Avis defraud me in a rental car transaction and refused to pay them for it and won. This now opens the door for them to look like vigilantes as this clearly was how they acted, in that they retaliated by doing this to my car. Later on another older guy, during that visit, slammed the hood of my car down so hard I thought he broke the stops and would as I went to leave, move his car in the way in the parking lot, and sat in it with the lights on staring at me as I left. Basically the idea was not to give me a pleasant experience in having work done there. I called the owner of the store as well as the chain's 800 number to complain but was given a song and dance and a coupon. I will never return there and I would not trust them with my car ever again.
