    Corporate Advocacy Program
Sears Auto Center in Burlington, Massachusetts had riped me off.
They charged me $113.22 for one tire. I had asked for a $60 tire, and they had sold me a $89 tire.

MY TOTAL CHARGES WERE

PARTS: $89.48
LABOR: $19.39
TAX: $4.35
TOTAL $113.22

I think it is upsurd they sold me a tire almost $30 more expensive than I was looking for. Those slime just want more money. I am very disapointed in their service. Not to mention they made me wait almost two hours. The whole point I am trying to make is that they sold me a tire that was much more expensive than I had asked for, this isn't fair.

tire purchase

Sir I'm going to ask something really stupid. Did you bother to look at the work order before they did the work? I managed one of their auto centers for fourteen years. I am no fan of the company by any means but I have NEVER known a csa to not tell the customer the price of the service before work was done. You are supposed to review work requested and sign the work order before the car goes in the shop. It complicates an already stressful job for the csa to do what you described.

I dont know about you but I've got more important thing to do then listen to unhappy customers.

Check the info

AUTHOR: Jim - Aberdeen (U.S.A.)

A couple things to also consider. Was the tire in question an advertised sale at $60- if so, checking the ad will show the words "starting at" before the price. This is because different sizes of tires cost different prices. Generally a more rarely used or larger size will cost more. Secondly, did you automatically add in things like tire disposal and valve stems to the tire price before posting your complaint? These are mandatory charges that were isted on your initia wok order. New valve stems eliminate leakage problems due to old rubber and/or prior damage, while State laws require a disposal fee to be paid on your od tires. The alternative to this is that you have old nasty tires loaded into your car wherever they will fit. As with the prior rebuttal, Id recommend to everyone to read your Work Order before signing it. If you fee your tire center has done you wrong, take your concerns to management, not the internet. Give someone who most likely understands the system a chance to talk it out with you before moanung on the internet. It's amazing how responsive people can be when you talk to them eye to eye, rather than behaving as if you are a poor victim deserving pity on the internet.

Mr. James' tire purchase

AUTHOR: J.j. - Las Cruces (U.S.A.)

I have worked in the auto center for 13 years and have had to deal with customers like James. One thing customer fail to realize is that we live in the United States of America where you dont have to buy it if you dont want it or need it. If we dont have what you specifically want we can order it , find it or you can take you whining complaining self out the door. I like option three. I dont ever remember twisting a customers arm and forcing him to purchase something more than he wanted. Thats whats great about our country. If you dont want it. You dont have to buy it. there are other places to look or other options to look at. Its Just that simple. WOW mind blowing isnt it. As far as the employee He must be the best sales person ever to sell someone something they dont want to pay for. Congrats to you. Sincerely J.J.G
