Wal-Mart Tire Warranty Fraud Travelers Rest South Carolina

I bought a set of Good Year tires from Wal-Mart in 2004. During a recent oil change at Wal-Mart, I was advised my tread was below the minimum depth required. A few days later I returned to Wal-Mart and purchased a set of new tires. My old tires were warranted for 50,000 miles of tread wear. I had all of my receipts, etc. for the first set of tires and could therefore prove that I had gotten a little under 33,000 miles on the set of tires. After approximately two hours of wrangling with the tire manager & store manager, I finally gave up on trying to get an adjustment on my new Good Year tires. Although none of the paperwork I was given with the first (or subsequent) set of tires stated that I had to rotate my tires at any required interval, I was denied the 1/3 price adjustment due to the early tread wearout on my tires. I have since called and spoken to store officials at length, sent emails, etc. all to no avail. Based on the formula printed on the paperwork I received with the first tires, I am due approximately $122 credit toward the new set of tires. Nowhere does it say that I even have to rotate/balance my tires at all to qualify for this credit. I did however have the tires rotated/balanced, just not often enough according to the store manager. I cannot understand why they will not allow me the credit I am due since the claim is against Good Year, not Wal-Mart. I was promised another level manager would call me about the situation, however after almost two weeks, no one has called. The bottom line is: If you buy tires from Wal-Mart, don't expect them to honor the tread wear warranty. They will rip you off!
