After requesting a quote to move my personal vehicle across the country, Around the Globe Auto Transporters emailed and called with a competitive price - below what other companies had offered.  I received a phone call shortly after receiving the quote via email and was told to that I needed to pay a deposit of $190 over the phone right away, and I would pay the balance upon delivery of my vehicle.

In addition to this "great price" I was told that I would receive a special gas-card for being in the military and relocating due to government orders.  After paying the deposit, the representative said they would email me a contract that I needed to return that same day.  This proved to be a difficult task for the company and after several emails and a day of not receiving the contract I asked if I could get my deposit back; as this simple task did not bode well for the professionalism of the company.  I was told that it was too late for my deposit because it had been processed already ... and the rep eventually got the contract to me the next day.

The contract stated that the car would not be picked up on the day I paid to have it picked up on.  The contract stated they had a 10 day window (...?) to pick up the car.  The contract stated that there is a $90 charge for cancelling service before the car was picked up.  The contract stated all of this ... after ... I paid the deposit.  I've been calling the company for days and after numerous extended waiting periods to actually speak to someone, numerous mysterious disconnects while being transferred to the infamous Dispatch Department, and being told that I shouldn't have paid the deposit if I didn't like the terms, and have been made out to be a "liar" about paying -before- I received the contract.

It's days beyond when my car was supposed to be picked up, and out of desperation of time restraints, I have had to cancel the service.  I'm supposed to hear back from billing tomorrow about a refund ... in the interim I have cataloged the email traffic between myself and the company rep in regards to them taking the money, and will be contacting USAA (to voice my concerns to the military community), the Better Business Bureau, and the US Department of Transportation if resolution does not arrive in the amount of a full refund. This situation is jeapordizing my ability to arrive at my government ordered move ... I'm determined to fight this company beyond tooth and nail if they don't fix this appropriately.  And since reading the many many bad reviews of this company ... I've begun sharpening my teeth.
