On Jan 11, 2009 I reserverd a car through Alamo's website to be picked up at Santiago Airport on Jan 16th and returned on Jan 30th. The price quoted me when I made the reservation was $585.68 which included all taxes and required insurance. When I returned the car to the airport, I was charged CLP$469,311 which is approximately US$797.66 at the current exchange rates. That's $211.98 more than I was quoted! I could understand maybe a very slight difference due to currency fluctuations, but this is outright misleading. I booked this car with Alamo because they offered the best price. I could also add complaints about the beat up car I was given to drive but my only issue here is the huge difference in price. The Contrato de Arrendamiento even has notes on it showing US$190.08+tax per week as the rate.
