nterprise was highly recommended to me by a friend who had rented a car from them 2 weeks previous. He was impressed by the low price he was given.
I however had problems with them from the start. When I first called to reserve the car I inquired about the price per day & asked them to include tax, insurance, and any other fees. The amount was much higher than what my friend had paid for a car that was supposed to be in a higher price bracket than the one I was reserving. When questioned they said "theyr prices are subject to change". When I asked what the representative meant she had no answer for me & just repeated herself with an annoyed tone.I hardly could understand what difference 2 weeks made in price changes.
Once I arrived at theyr location in Moline IL the price they quoted me on the phone was not available to me & instead I was made to pay much more. By then I had no choice, I was running late for my trip, so I paid it.
On the way home I ran into a snag & was forced to extend my rental another day. Because I called in the payment an hour late they kept my $100 deposit and demmanded the car be returned immediatly the following morning (which was my intention anyways). But to have my deposit kept because of a late phone call! After they had already collected $456 from me!!!
I will NEVER use this company again & dont at all recommend them to anyone else.

You apparently don't make many reservations for things such as hotels, cars, airlines.
There is a difference between calling up for a price and making a reservation. You can call up 20 times and may get 20 different answers based on the exact information and time you call. But when you make a reservation you make it for a specific price based on the times in your reservation. But in your case it wasn't even like you called and went down there an hour later, you went down TWO WEEKS later.
If you don't think two weeks makes a difference, go to your local store, find an item on sale for the week. Go back two weeks later and ask to get the item at the sale price because that is what it was 2 weeks ago.
Then when you called to extend your rental they will charge you for the additional time. Depending on the rental it could be an extra $100. That $100 may also be a late fee because you are not even taking into account the fact that you keeping the rental an extra day may have caused them not to have a car available for someone else who had already reserved it based on your return date.
But I doubt that $100 was your entire deposit. Because I believe the MINIMUM deposit they require is around $250-$300. So if they only took a $100 deposit that is unique and was actually in your favor. But this is also why I doubt that you are posting the entire story.
