Enterprise Rental Car 30 minutes can change your final bill!!!! Schiller Park Illinois

On Sept 23, 2008 my mom calls Enterprise and makes a reservation for me to pick up a 'compact' car Oct 2 @ 9pm at the O'Hare location...as I get closer to my departure from California I realize my flight doesn't get in until 8:55 and a 9pm pickup won't work... so being diligent I went online and changed the pickup time to 9:30. I did this Oct 1 on the website @7pm.
So I get to Chicago, finally get picked up and shuttled to the Enterprise office(which is packed) I finally get my car, extra coverage and am on my way 60 miles to go meet my husband who I haven't see in a month. It's 10pm when my contract is printed. I am exhausted and think to myself that the rates quoted in my original contract of 23.67 a day are great... what a great deal!My mom is a great shopper!

Blah blah... the trip is uneventful except that I got in a car accident in the south side... the nice police come and I am found not at fault... I turn the vehicle and police report in to an even MORE packed Enterprise office. That may be another story in itself :)

I have been checking my cc for the charges and tonight 11 days after I return the vehicle, sure enough I got them... I was charged 45.94 a day!
So I call their 800# and speak with Van. He said that I was charged the 'prevailing' cost for that time...He also told me that the pickup time didn't matter and that my car would have been there anyway(so much for being diligent)
He asks if I would like to file a formal complaint(he said someone should have told me)...Well of COURSE I do! So he says that a manager or district manager will contact me on Monday.
So, beware... if you modify your pickup times you can get a BIG hit to your bill. I will see if anyone does contact me. If not, I will try to contact them and document everything.
Yes, shame on me for not checking my revised confirmation email... but seriously... I didn't change anything but my PICKUP time!!!
