On June 20th I ordered a copy of CarFax for a van I was considering purchasing. When I got to the website it said there were 2 incidents reported on the van's vin number, and so I ordered the report for $24.99.
I ordered because if the information was useful, it would have been well worth it. I also read about the 100% money back guarantee if your unhappy with the information they provided you.
Well, I got the report and the 2 incidences were where the car was a rental car in Florida and the other was where the dealership bought the car. I already knew both of these things and do not consider them incidences. I feel like that wording is misleading and used to get you to order the report.
So, I requested a refund. I had to go through many different steps in order to get the refund processed. As of this morning 08/08/07 almost 2 months after requesting the refund, I still have not gotten it.
Please do not order anything from CarFax - they took my money and did not honor the money back guarantee.

did you buy/not buy the van based on the info you got? if the info was misleading in any way then i see your point. if not then you have no reason to be pissed off. carfax is a company that gives info on vehicles, whether you find it pertinent or not after buying the info is irrelivant, carfax gave you what you paid for.
