I purchased an extended warranty policy form my 2005 Harley Davidson which was purchased new, up to 2 weeks ago I had no problems with the bike, I was on my in to work when a gear in the transmission broke and also damaged the drive belt. I had to get the bike towed to the nearest Harley dealer which I did. I got a call from the dealer saying that the bike was finished but that CNA is not paying for the drive belt because it is not a "Covered" item and I owe the dealer $600 plus the deductible for the transmission. I called CNA on 9-2-09 for them to tell me that "Consequential Damage" from a covered part is not covered. I called CNA again on 9-3-09 and asked to speak to a supervisor ( Mark ) which I did for him to tell me the same thing that any damage to any other part not covered they will not pay for even though that a "covered" part caused the damage to a perfectly good part prior to the transmission ("covered") part breaking. He referred me to Harley Davidson's customer care, which I called after speaking to him, and all they said was that my complaint was filed. And I am still left having to pay for the other parts not covered by the extended warranty. I wasn't to upset that my bike broke down knowing that I had an extended warranty and that no matter what it was only going to cost me a $50 deductible just to find out after the fact that it is still going to cost big bucks to get it fixed despite having this warranty. That's where they get you, the policy sounds good when you purchase it but when you need it is when you realize you are getting screwed by this "Extended Warranty". I was under the assumption that if something went wrong and it is a covered part, I would have it fixed to the same condition it was in before the transmission failed. Not having to pay for other damage that "The Covered Part" caused. For anyone purchasing an extended warranty better ask these questions prior to getting screwed and still having to pay a hefty repair bill.
